Indeed. For the first year and a half I had nothing good to say about it. But now after several fixes, some mine, some Cakewalks it seems to be running smooth enough to use on an songs that matters. So I'm excited to see what X2 brings to the table.

I don't have a problem with the pricing.. $99 seems fair. However, I'm from Belgium, and we work in €... And $99 isn't 99€... According to xe.com, $99 is about 79€... Why is this?

If I understand this right is it saying Sonar X1 Studio upgrades for $200 to X2 Producer? I may just do that.

I currently have X1 Producer Expanded. As far as I can see, I can upgrade to Production Suite for £70, then I'm entitled to X2 upgrade for free? So saving myself £9 and getting Z3ta+2 into the bargain. Or have I read it wrong?

If you get the free upgrade, you will not be eligible for the yet undisclosed early adopters promotion or the plethora of late adopters specials.

This is one of the things i like about Cakewalk - existing customers are rewarded with a very fair upgrade price. It is too good to refuse.

just noticed I could upgrade from Expanded to Production Suite now for €80, get the PC4K S-Type Expander / Gate ProChannel Module and Z3TA+2, and receive a free updgrade to X2. Wouldn't I be an early adopter then, adopting to X2 as soon as it's available? Instead of upgrading for €99, without the PC4K S-Type Expander / Gate ProChannel Module and without Z3TA+2, but with an early adopter special? erm, Cakewalk?

I guess since the free upgrade to X2 offer runs through to October 31st, I will see what the early adopter offers are before I need to buy. Either way, it's a steal.

European customers are required to pay VAT and we include the VAT price in there already. Yes, this comes up for every round of upgrades. £63 + 20% VAT = £75 And by British VAT regulations you're required to offer a Zero rate to VAT registered businesses on the simple production of VAT reg number on the purchase order. It's not as if it's extra work, the regulations say that on production of a VAT number by the customer you can IGNOR all the VAT processing. You have to do nothing at all. So if I include my VAT Reg Num at checkout can I have my upgrade at £63 please?

Oh good. I said $50 would be great and $100 would be reasonable. I am wondering though... I see some people mentioned getting emails about this. Should I have gotten an email? Hmm... maybe I didn't sign up for the newsletter. Thought I had. Also I'm not sure if maybe I qualify for the free upgrade considering I only bought the Suite in May for $500 (I doubt it though). Anyway I really want to check out that R-Mix thingie madoodle. Will I be able to run both X1 and X2 on the same system with the upgrade? I'm still learning X1 and have a bunch of projects on the go. Nice work Cake. You guys have gotten me worried on occasion but you always seem to come through in the end.

If X2 works like every other Cakewalk DAW product, you will be able to run X2 along side with X1. If you have never received promotional mail from Cakewalk and want it, go to your store account and signup. If you did signup, check your spam filter.

Not quite sure whether that refers to the compressor or not, as everything else has been given a serial number ...

What is it the upgrade? I try to understand if there is a difference between the upgrade from X1 Producer expanded to X2 and X1 producer to X2. Does the two comes at the same place or is there a difference at the end of the two upgrade?

It does not matter if you upgrade from X1 Producer or X1 Producer Expanded to X2 Producer, you will get the same product. There is no X2 Producer Expanded, the features from X1 Producer Expanded have been incorporated into X2 Producer.

Hi, just curious where you saw that <...but you'll get that whether you wait to get X2 or get the Production Suite now>? I searched around but didn't see it. It seems like if you're sure you want to upgrade early then it's a no brainer to go the production suite route and essentially get the expander and z3ta+2 synth thrown in basically for $1 more (for US customers, even better for UK). Thx...
