Yup, it's been one crazy weekend. It's like WAVES just sat back and said, "let's see if these musicians and producers are the avarice driven beasts we think they are". And we were. I bet they made more money this weekend than they did all of last year. Even at the deep discounted, no brainer prices they were getting.

I can't believe the spondulicks I've dropped lately. Not just on software, but some hardware as well. I think that's why I initially ignored the $50 Waves voucher - at first. It has been an expensive year for all things musical. Now if only I had some actual talent to do something with it all.

Alas, for me, I had to go without all the goodies I wanted to buy....
No money means NO MONEY....end of story...=(
There were loads of things that I had been waiting to buy in the Waves Sale...and couldn't...
There will always be another sale....and really nothing I NEEDED...just WANTED...LOL

I just did a real crazy. I filled out an Upgrade quote form for Horizon so I can get just about every Waves I own into one package. I also used the coupon code so I'll see how it goes. Hoping since I did it before the sale is over I can still get the sales price... Guess I'll find out Monday. Sure would make it easier when it's time for the dreaded WUP.

I saw how cheap the upgrade was from the Waves site to Diamond or Horizon from my current Platinum and about cried...and AD would have been a lot cheaper...add to that the extra $50 and ....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH....LOL

I succumbed to the temptation and picked up the Vocal Rider. After the usual Waves installation confusion I usually have and eventually overcome, I got it going. Looks like it may be handy.

I just had an interesting experience with Wavesuniverse regarding the new "summer spectacular" WAVES sale. The Sound Design bundle can now be had for as little as $299 at the web shops. And I've got more than half the plugs in that bundle already...as well as many others. So I thought I'd see what me upgrade cost would be for the bundle during the sale. Both Wavesuniverse and I were stunned when waves price...even with the WU discount was $265. I was figuring more like $100 or so. When I reminded Max at WU that I could get the whole thing for $299 he commiserated and said he didn't understand the reasoning either. go figure.

Had the same experience when I had AD quote me horizon. I was updating 10 singles and 1 bundle and the return quote was for only $20 less than I could buy the Horizon bundle for.
Regardless, I didn't do it. Would like to some time because eventually this WUP thing is going to hurt me.

The are some "odd" Waves Upgrade paths...
For instance...
I own SSL, Neve, and the API 500A/B ....yet my upgrade to the Studio Collection is still $900!!!
And I own more then 2/3 of the Bundle...the only things I don't have are the API 560 and the API 2500,
which I could buy for less then $300...
That's completely ****ed...but, when I asked Waves about it they stated, there is NO upgrade path to the
Studio Collection per se....that it's just based on whatever....that's pretty silly business if you ask me...
There are a LOT of Waves Plugins that really get you nothing, or very little, in the "Upgrade" dept....
But, on the opposite side of that coin, Waves gives INCREDIBLE discounts throughout the year...so
it kind of works out in the long run...
