We will have more information about SONAR X1c in late July - is that 2011 or 2012?
Maybe they meant next year?

Can I be the first to say I feel abandoned, betrayed, sickened, more hurt than angry, ripped off, lied to, cheated, spurned and cruelly deceived by the fact that this information is now a whole day late. So here's the news, cakewalk. I've got hostages. Every 24 hours I'm going to cut off a finger and mail it in. AND IT'LL BE YOUR FAULT.

Once again Roland lives up to my expectations. Unfortunately, I don't expect much out of them.

Maybe they already released all information there is - X1c comes in august. But as I remember it - they released that info early in July. So give Cake a break - they did good.

Look boys, I know you're kidding but let's not get into appendage removal and hostages, okay? In these times it really is a bit off color. Now get back to sniffing out bugs and preparing your list for the day X1C shows up. Somebody will have to see if the bakers got the important stuff done.

maybe the C in X1C referred to the same C in music Creator 6. (which is now also derived from X1).

I suppose it might be interesting to see what X1c has to offer, but really, there's no reasonable way to expect it to transform X1 much beyond what it already is. Cakewalk decided, for reasons still mysterious to me, to hand the program over to a new team which had apparently been itching to gut it and make it the most arcane, clumsy piece of software ever unleashed on an unsuspecting public. They certainly succeeded at doing that. Now there are pages and pages of bugs to still fix, I'm sure some will be fixed in the upcoming release - But X1c will still be X1 - love it or hate it.---and I don't understand how anybody who became a Sonar 8.5 power user could ever truthfully say that they love the new incarnation which forces them to click and click and click and buy more and more tutorials to explain the defiantly inscrutable pile of-xxx-- that Cakewalk has become. --So. I'll of course take a look at X1c. I'm just saying I feel it would be foolish to think that a sow's ear will suddenly and magically become a silk purse. Ya know? Randy B.

We'll see when it does come out. Why worry about something till it comes? Just have fun and keep the music flowing. I don't like all the X1tra clicks but we'll get there in the end.

rbowser I don't understand how anybody who became a Sonar 8.5 power user could ever truthfully say that they love the new incarnation which forces them to click and click and click and buy more and more tutorials to explain the defiantly inscrutable pile of-xxx-- that Cakewalk has become. I did an internationally-released album entirely in SONAR 8-8.5. I honestly think SONAR X1 is the best version of SONAR yet. I personally have always thought of SONAR pre-X1 as needlessly complex (in terms of actual use), and had always recommended it with the caveat that the UI and workflow is a nightmare. I have never bought an X1 tutorial, as I adapted to X1 rather quickly. I actually think it's rather intuitive. I think that it's great and it's only going to get better in the future. Basically, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Randy's got a couple of international accomplishments under his belt too. http://www.dorian-the-musical.com/ Not to mention a killer version of Roll Over Beethoven on Youtube! :) It's interesting to see how two such accomplished artists that have used 8.5 so intimately can come up with two very different conclusions.

well, first i would thank cakewalk for actually giving an eta on development updates.. when the norm in the industry is to say nothing and throw it over the castle walls when its done... secondly..i will wait until they are finished .. after all, i hope then i dont need an x1d :D

You will always need an X1d... or an X1.5, or X2... or whatever's next. Else how would Cakewalk stay in business with Sonar?
