Hi,

I'm working on my radio show right now. I am putting together the first show ... all insane, and I doubt anyone in the Coffee House will want to hear it!

I can confidently say Pedro, that we ALL want to hear it!

And finally The CHB is in process on the final track that will complete our first CD (almost exactly 60 minutes of music).

Wow!  How did this little nugget get overlooked by everyone???  60 minutes of music??!!!  So is this going to be one of those box deals with five or ten albums in it?  I mean, to get an hour's worth of music out of all that other filler?

I just finished up a 4-month project which is the first album (of somebody else's music) on which I got credited as Producer. I earned that title, too. I played and sang on it, mixed and mastered it, and composed the short orchestral overture that opens the CD. The only thing I didn't do was track it, design the cover art or procure drugs for the band.

It was a challenging mix, a live performance wherein the drums came to me as a (badly) premixed stereo file. I had to pull out damn near every trick I know to get those hats and crashes under control.

So I just received my complimentary stack of giveaway CDs this past weekend, and was relieved to find that even now, three weeks after wrapping up the final master, it's (mostly) not embarrassing to listen to.

There's a good chance this album will be released on vinyl in Europe, so I may get the chance to do my first for-vinyl mastering job.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I heart this thread!  so cool to see what everyone is doing or thinking about doing, whether it gets to the songs forum or not.

Lessee... I just finished one of my own, done entirely on my own, and recently also had one lovingly mixed by Karyn.  I just got a pm from someone who posted here and alluded to something, but I won't say who... I SHOULD have recorded vox for this person today, but my son was sick and I had a thrilling trip to the pediatrician, instead (he's fine.  Bronchitis & ear infection, but it meant no school for him and no recording time for me).

The bummers are a.) I have a vocal track in to Blipp, which we started literally just before his troubles, and I really hope he gets to the point where he can return to us soon,  because I miss him, fuhgeddabout the music we were doing and b.) my Swedish producer-man has hit some sort of brick wall musically, so there's nothing going on there, either.  If I were any closer to Sweden, I'd personally go and shake him until he saw sense again.

60 minutes of CHB material??? HOLY BECAN!!!!

The storyboards are already in the works.  Looks something like this:

(Fade from Black to UCU) Asparagus
(cue smoke to CU) Kitty with an asparagus toothpick
(Door opens to reveal large, smelly, scary man ZOOM to) His Ugly Mug

And Becan.  Lots of Becan.  It's RAINING Becan, actually. As we swim in a Becan sea.....

slowly but surely trying to work on my 'Staypress' (me) stuff inbetween paying gigs. The latest original song has Mrs Daryl1968 singing lead vox and is called 'Ghost'.
The song has no connection to Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg or making clay pots before Bapu pipes up.

A very close friend passed away last week ) Cancer) so I recorded a song about how I felt the day I found out and will perform at his memorial this weekend. It was very had to get through it. Sorry for the downer but sometimes this is reality. I also finished a great blues song which I will post on song forum soon. Great idea for a fredrick Reece.

sorry to hear that Greg.  are you having problems being "inspired" or time problems or...?
I have 3 or 4 songs nearly complete, but I've been kinda down lately. Plenty of time, just a lack of energy, and a lack of inspiration to finish them.
They're still playing in my head, though. In fact, "Mary Chang" is nearing completion there. Now to start recording it so I can add it to the unfinished projects file.

The answer to getting out of a funk is laughter. Go out of your way to find something to really laugh about. I don't mean a  ha-ha or LOL. I'm talking gut wrenching laughter.

But, don't get involved my FSF. That will just make it worse. Trust me.
