Freddie H mudgel I wouldn't say the Cakewalk version of the LA2A is better than the IKM White. Just different. At least on mic'd acoustic guitar. As has already been mentioned, like the original hand made hardware units, there were differences between them. That's how I would describe the (only subtle) differences between Cakewalk's and IKM emulations. I don't know with you if you tune the plugins right but IMHO IKM White has not a chance. Cakewalks LA-2 is in another ball game. Exclusive Ball game high end... Seeing as it is your Humble Opinion perhaps you could express it about your findings, not mine. IMHO

Zo, Go to your color options in preferences and hit "apply defaults". That should fix it. Also, I got your PM - not ignoring you. Will get back to you ASAP.

Not sure. You can go change just that particular aspect. Search for "track selection" and set it to the color you want.

Ok , when you set "all catgeories by default" it doesn't work ...i had to select track view and set the delfault of this to make it right ....but as soon as i go to my color scheme ..it goes black so i think i'm gonna redesign my color scheme going from the new default ...thks Brandon for the input ;) For the leveler ...is there already an update to do ? Eric ..i pretty stressed the PC by changing modules orders deleteing inserting stuff ...and then it happend ....the button on/off is gray (meaning off) ..but the comp still working ...

Zo" one more thing ....any softube user here ? Do we have to unistall old version of plugin to insttall the last one ? Yes. And according to the installation instructions, you must remove the Softube Saturation Knob DLL. The X1D patch will then update it (to version 1.3.8). Softube is also offering a patch for all of it's products which I have applied (big one at approx. 250MBs). All Softube VSTs are now at version 1.3.5 with the exception of the Saturation Knob. The Softube PC strip modules have also been updated to same version number. And it's all purring along mighty fine.

so far I like it. I have used it on a couple of tracks and adjusted the parameters to smooth things out. it does color the sound a little, especially with the screw adjustments. very nice LA for $40. I would not have wanted it at full price, tho.

Mosvalve I just tested it on bass track and it made the track sound so much better. So far I like it. That makes sense since the real version is an awesome bass comp. I had a Tubeworks Mosvalve combo amp in the '90's. It was a cool little amp. Then when I went to a rack set up and used a Mosvalve power amp. I still have a Tubeworks tube stomp box that I haven't used in awhile. B.T.W. Welcome to the forum. : ) Rocky

I am a reluctant PC plugin buyer because I don't like the dependence on the Pro Channel slant. However, I'm not stupid either. So, if someone offers me a very good deal on a classic compressor/limiter, I'm going to jump on it even if I can only use it in SONAR X1 expanded. I tried it out on some cranked up guitars and it sounds really nice. I've got a Marshall Class 5 and a Fender Pro Jr that are both maxed out and they sound pretty good. But with a PC2A they sound mo' better.

I would love to have the hardware version of this - but then again, with unlimited instances, that's pretty cool too. I've been trying this off and on vocal and guitars since yesterday and glad I snagged it. PC is definitely helping us non-uad owners. All of these compressors are solid.

Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to install the thing? I just bought it and it didn't come with any serial numbers although when I'm trying to install it it states that it needs them? WTF I've refreshed my account page a million times and there's nothing there and nothing in an email either.
