This reminds me of a Frank (Notnat) song. I like the song a lot. My only crit would be to, where it can be done, change the bass line to a dotted quarter-eighth.

Nice job!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

I think this sounds great Bapu!

Something seems to have opened up in the middle. The vocals sound really nice and there is a space that has appeared that allows me to hear the way your vocal lines and the bass part interact. It made the vocals sound more natural and relaxed. The bass part and the bass playing seems to frame the vocals nicely. It's a pleasure to sit back and listen to your insights and reflections.

Wonderful!

best regards,
mike

Thanks Mike.

Nice original song with a nice sound. t's an interesting song as far as the lyrics and shows that you are trying to work things out in your own life for you, and that is always a good thing. Well done and nicely sung.

I see this has had a fair share of work done on it.

This is the first version I've heard and it is a story that couldn't be told be anyone else in a way that would mean as much.

IOW it's perfect and therefore a fully baked cake that can be taken from the oven.  I enjoyed my slice at least.

I figured that if I wrote this now you could ignore it for several months and then use answering it as a really lame excuse to bump yourself to the top of the page again sometime next year. ;)

This "software" forum sometimes makes us focus on recording technique and plus or minus db this and that and we tend to forget about heart and feel. I love this bro. You have heart and feel.

Tony, thank you so much for the kind words.

I didn't hear it before but I like the balance of instruments now.
Appropriate for the genre.
It ends a bit abruptly IMHO.
One other thing that occurs to me as a song is that it feels like a series of verses rather than verse and chorus.
IOW I don't recognize a chorus.
Nicely done tho. good vocal tone and separation.

Ed, as a recovering (from everything) person with 25.5 years and always wondering if I can do it again tomorrow and also saved by a wonderful woman, I have to say you nailed the lyrics .  They were well written for this subject.  Now, because we're always honest with each other, I thought you were using a keyboard for the bass.  It really had very little bottom.  I'm using the same phones I have been for all the other tunes so who knows.  Is it bad?  No.  It's just too bright or maybe over compressed for my ears. Now,  I haven't nailed that whole compression thing  so Mark does my bass tracks.  I did really love the spirit of your tune.  Well written, buddy!

Thanks for the listen Warren.

1st time listerner, and whatever technical problems you had (if any) have been solved.  The mix sounded very open and clear w/ space for everything and none left over.

Now, if only there were some technical measure to get such heartfelt performances.  the content is great, but the delivery is perfect.  Sometimes we forget that song is all about story, even if it is a frozen moment in the story.  Impressive.
