Which way you gonna go? Lump sum or payments?
Too bad I can't make it a poll. I'm on the fence between the two. I'm usually a pay $149 type courtesy of Mr. Visa or Mastercard. Your thoughts?

I don't pay carrying charges so it will be a single payment on a credit card paid off when the bill comes in.

I haven't seen how the monthly payment thing works. Is it an automatic credit card withdrawal?
I've got plenty of cash in my Paypal account so I can do a one time payment but the option to back out of the monthly payments if SONAR Platinum doesn't meet expectations when the drum replacement feature is ready is a nice option to have.

Doesn't Paypal have a feature to set up monthly payments? Otherwise you could just do it manually. As far as the OP I'm going with the thumb up my bum payment plan... that is until I have some actual money to spend. Then I'd pay up front.

Paypal is really lame if you're a seller but brilliant as a customer. It's cool Cake accepts it (and pays the associated fees). Quite a few places won't anymore.

When I sent money to someone else a while ago, they charged me a fee of about 3%. Is this a similar % to what CW would be charged? From your comment, it also sounds like this fee went up at some point. EDIT: Lump sum. I want to get it out of the way and not have to think about it or be reminded about it every month.

I'll do the same I've always done. Single payment. It already costs a lot more with the weak Australian dollar being worth only USD$0.78.

I'm pretty much set in my mind to not subscribe at all. However, I would think the lump sum would be best because it is cheaper. Also, once you pay, then all you have to do is sit back and wait for $149 to $199 worth of updates each year.

in 2 minds, depends on marketing.. lump sum or nothing.. if they want to offer specials later next year like they have done in the past over they years, then I might bother. if thats done and dusted , then I'll wait as long as possible or not at all I've not updated a rival's product this year as I felt they offered too little vs what they charged. I waited for a sale on another company and upgraded their thing, and I'll see how I get on with it.

It's an ongoing business cost for me, so the cash difference between the two is absorbed into the general mess of that. I'm tempted to do the monthly payment out of sheer curiosity.

I'll pay in one lump sum. I think most of us are used to upgrading every year anyway, so the payment itself is really no different than it used to be. I like the idea of not having to worry about payments throughout the twelve months and knowing that all of the new updates will be ready for me.
