  Marcus, do you know whether the converters in the VS-100 as good as the ones in the V-Studio 700? How well does it integrate with X2?    Thanks, Jonathan

It has the same converters as the VS-700, which are great! It integrates very nicely...I got mine from Sam Ash for 250....they were having a sale...might want to see if it's still available...

THAT is very cool!,I wasn't sure,as I got mine very cheap too,but NOT new[$162.50 AUD ebay auction,only 4 bids!]but I'm using it as my audio interface ONLY,as I haven't had the time/wherewithal,to get it happening as a controller yet,I guess it has something to do with the fact,that at 48,I've only used a computer ever,for about 2 years,never before having owned or used one...the Daw concept,got me some of the way,out of "Ludite'sville".


Re-entering into music these past 2 years[exactly]has been a steep curve for a guitar player,who always wanted to be a drummer[alluding to something?],as a child,though my parents wouldn't deal with noisy drums....100w Marshalls,must have been possibly worse,but I was a late starter at 18,so they only had to put up with attempts at "Eruption"for only a short while heh heh.

Just bought a VS-100.

Cakewalk A-800PRO, AKAI LPD8 with ACT, (Mostly commands with PADS + SEND Levels) 2x Yamaha 02R 96 with Cascade + ADAT cards, Analog I/O

i used a bcf 2000 with x1 for a while. i also have a maschine mk 2

Someday I will get out of my own way and actually hook it up.

The VS 100 and 700 preamp/converters are the same, or at least sound the same.  Good stuff.  In fact, the only difference in hardware between the two (except the 700 has more of it) are the faders.  Cake confirmed that the 100 had a different fader - and it was smoother.

I've been uming and aghing about getting a control surface for a while but am worried about shelling out and it not playing with X1 / X2.

I think it's coming down to an Acer 27" TouchScreen, that should keep the bankmanger (Wife) happy, and although I won't have the physical knobs and faders, it still llooks like touch offers some workflow improvments on what I already have. http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.HT2EE.001

I realize I'm replying to an old post, but I'm in the process of configuring my new computer set-up, and I'm using the Acer 27" Touch Screen and a Contour Shuttle Pro V2, with my computer a Win 10 x64 and Sonar Platinum.  So far, working ok, but I'm still setting up some of the stuff.
