Will someone from Calkwalk please verify this?

If we purchase Sonar X1 Producer on the 8th from the Cakewalk site, will we be able to download it on the 8th while we wait for the boxed version to get shipped to us? I haven't found a definitive answer to this and I've asked it a few times. I had a sent PM to Seth a week ago and had replied to a thread by Robin as well-with no replies. What gives???

    Fess,
My guess is you'll be "purchasing" the download, with an "option" for the DVD's at say $20.
IF we're lucky the only issue will be bandwidth on the download servers.
BUT, I'm guessing there will be a lot of whining about not being able to access the e-store.
    Relax and enjoy...

Yes you'll be able to download the full version at the time of purchase while waiting for the boxed version to arrive.

SONAR X1 download is divided into multiple parts. I believe the main portion for SONAR X1 Producer is around 5 GB with the total reaching somewhere around 12 GB.

Of course if you already have some of the content, portions of the download won't be necessary.

Thanks Brandon. I've decided I'm gonna get 8.5 producer upgrade and download X1 Producer. How much will it cost to order the box version of X1 Producer after I upgrade to 8.5 producer and download X1 producer?

    Thanks.

Brandon, any idea on shipping fees to Ontario Canada? Thinking about getting the box version+ download of 8.5 producer upgrade and X1 boxed version as well.

    Thanks again.

Any chance of breaking the download up into small-ish segments like 2.5 GB each? Many people struggle with such huge files..

Cakewalk are very good at determining the "pain threshold" for spending decisions, aren't they?

My only regret in not ordering DVDs last time around was that you couldn't get a full downoad for 8.5, and had to install 8.0 first when reinstalling.

If the full X1 can be downloaded so that a clean install doesn't require 8.5, that's good enough for me. I'll start with the 5GB download, and when the servers cool off a few days later, I'll download the rest of the content to my new $30 USB hard drive.

    Ouch.

I don't have high speed broadband at home (stuck on a 3G due to where I live), so I won't be able to download the X1 upgrade.

I'm afraid this is going to be a deal breaker for me. I was having a hard enough time justifying the $99.00, but add another $30.00 on top ... I'm going to have to pass.

Sorry, but that's asking too much.
