Thanks FFB....

so no music note duration icons  then (again).....   still work in 8.5 to create music .... but use X1 to mix... -

I was just hoping Cakewalk would give me an incentive to purchase X2. Ben Staton could do it in his spare time with sonar+... can't see why Cake just don't integrate it as it was in 8.5 and earlier..

Wow - I'm really hoping that the posted image is just missing some icons which are actually present, otherwise, to not include Ben's stuff is a kick in the ***** for me.

Someone - anyone, please verify the full look and feel of Staff View as a result of X2a.

If this turns out to be true, I will not upgrade to X2 - it is a matter of principle.

2 hours?????

Mine took 7 minutes!

That's on 10Mb from Virgin
I've finally managed to escape the clutches of my provider of the last few years but the change over process is still WIP. I'm hoping my new provider will be better.
I've just done a speed test and if the download was from anyone else it would be fine - I've always had trouble with Cakewalk downloads.

I'm in New Zealand where it is now 21-12-12, 10:15 AM. I can report that Sonar X2a installed as intended and that the World is still intact. However, the hippies have gathered at the meditation center down the road to chant, bless them. There is even a contingent of 14 from Spain who have arrived to help. You folk in the Northern Hemisphere can relax: it's all being sorted out for you down here!

Can anyone confirm with a pic what changes lie here please...

2Updated Piano Roll view and Staff view Track pane UIThe Track pane in the Piano Roll view and Staff view has received an updated UI, shows more intuitive buttons, and the current track is now highlighted."

Might get the wallet out before Christmas if there are sufficient changes...

PRV pic here, Staff view pretty much the same

Karl,

Is there any way you could please post an expanded picture of the Staff View with some notes on the staff, so we can see if there are any new UI icons?

Much appreciated.

The large download is because there is a new Microsoft redistributable and also some perfect space impulses and content included.

I got a forced restart screen about 3/4 of the way through the installation on my Win7 32. I hit cancel and the installation resumed. I have no idea what that was about. Never seen that screen just hang until I took an action. Opening the program now. Keep those tips coming. :-)
Windows 8 64 bit also tried to close down part way through the install. I cancelled the restart and it carried on installing.
Never seen that one before.

In the mean time I downloaded an EZdrummer update (at the same time) that came down at much faster rate than the X2 patch.
It's just me and Cakewalk that have a problem.

Looks like they fixed most of my problems (PRV drum pane vet zoom crash & overlap tool) but I didn't read where they fixed the audition not working with drum map problem that had been confirmed and replicated by cake tech. It has been broke for several versions now I hope it gets worked on now that they realize it!!!!

Crap. The vertical zoom tool still doesn't work in drum pane prv but at least now it doesn't crash when you try to use it!!!!!!!!!! No drum map audition fix either.

Now Dimension Pro asks for the authorization number and won't accept it when entered. I've already completely removed Dimension Pro and reinstalled it. This is aggravating. I'm going to uninstall the new update and go back to the original download. Hopefully the next update won't be too far down the road.

They still haven't fixed the stolen Keystrokes from U-He plugins when saving presets. Worked in 8.5, upgraded to X2, and suddenly I'm unable to give presets in DIVA any kind of reasonable name. Was really hoping that would have been fixed, or do the Cakewalk staffers just not use DIVA or any of the other U-he synths? Or perhaps they just don't roll their own presets.

I love the new Pro Channel Context (Add Modules) menu...

I do have an issue...everything below what initially shows up on the screen, when I scroll down,
is black...until I move the mouse pointer over it...then it shows up..when I move the mouse pointer, it disappears again...

Also, the Softube Mix Bundle Programs don't have Pictures like the others...but the Saturation Knob does...maybe a Softube Update?

Noel,

I'm not complaining. A bigger download means more features and more fixes so that's a good thing. I was surprised at the size of the ummm patch. Kind of reminds me of when I went from X1C to X1D.

I did notice the brand new redistribution C+++ect. I did have one problem on the install.

When it got to the point when the program started to install the perfect space content an error message came up on every wave file.

The options were ignore, retry, and abort. When I hit retry the next IR file came up with the same error. At first I thought I would have problems with perfect Space. Once I finished installing X2a I started up Sonar and reset the plug-ins. Then I did a plug-in scan. I ran tests on Perfect space and found that it worked fine. I accessed the additional content and had no problems with the new impulses.

It appears to be a bug on the install and did not effect the install itself. everything works fine. At first all the error messages freaked me out until I read the details and found that they were related to the new impulse responses. but everything works and there are no problems.

Anyone else have this issue?

I looked at the folder & since the dll isn't there can I delete those unnecessary impulses & folder without doing anything harmful to the registry?
