Downloaded quick enough. Installed without flaw. Opened up the last project I worked on today in X2qf, and I have a Silent Buses Detected headered box with all my tracks listed??? This is probably not a fix I presume. They are not silent at all. Also my Breverb does nothing...Any ideas?

You can't open old projects and expect them to work right in updates. You have to start totally new and record a new project from scratch to accurately test X2a update.

kday You can't open old projects and expect them to work right in updates. You have to start totally new and record a new project from scratch to accurately test X2a update. Where did that notion come from? I can tell you its not true. I have projects going back to Pro Audio (wrk) files that open and play fine in all later versions. Projects I created in X2 or X1 open and play fine. Some of them are complicated and use plugins that I don't use any more. All I do is find new replacements for those plugins. I have gone through different audio and MIDI interfaces through the years and never has a project failed to open or play back as it was meant to. CW does a great job of having backward compatibility for all new versions. Tonight for example I have been opening a lot of old projects to test X2a.

Bristol_Jonesey The zoom on the PRV seems to be fixed I like the look of the new Track Pane in the PRV Pentagon now works I'll have to retract the Pentagon comment. The vsti loads & runs perfectly on one rig but not on my main DAW. I get the Pentagon frame but the gui is just a white screen. I only recently cleared out all older versions of Sonar, including registry entries and did a complete install of just Sonar X2 64 bit If I then delete the synth, or just undo the insertion, Sonar crashes. What gives here?

Updated from X1 today (purchased X2 a few weeks ago but was in the middle of a project and couldn't afford to change over. Damn, I should have. So far i'm impressed, it makes up for a few of the back steps i felt in X1 (at least for my workflow) I've even noticed lots of cool little details (for instance the parameters that appear at the bottom window when you click on a VST softsynth). Anyway. I know this is pretty simple wish but.... would be nice to have a label box in the envelope lanes. The description of the variable you're automating in that lane can be pretty cryptic, and there seems to be plenty of space in the box for one. (simple to ask for, not sure how simple to implement) X2b perhaps ?????

backwoods jgarland- did you reset vst paths as requested in the readme goto- preferences- files-vsts and hit the reset to default button and then rescan Yes. I did that first, as instructed. It was during the vst re-scan that the error messages for Drumagog & IK MM popped up.

Is X2a build 308? After the update, I expected to see X2a somewhere. Looking at my "help"/"about sonar" menu it states that my current file revision is 308 and still just says X2 Producer. I just want to make sure the update happened.

jgarland Problems here. Installed X2a and it would not load Drumagog 4.11, said it couldn't find a file named "C:\Program Files (x86)\Drumagog40\Favorites.dat". I found the file in a different location and moved it to where Sonar was looking for it. This time Drumagog was recognized but had defaulted to Demo mode. I Re-installed Drumagog and re-activated it but it still showed up in Sonar as in Demo mode. I tried another install and activation and got the same results. Also two IK multimedia plugs, CSR Hall reverb & Sampletank 2, were disabled by Sonar. I re-enabled CSR but the instant it loaded up Sonar crashed. Gave up and restored the computer image I made before X2a was installed. All plugs then worked perfectly. Very disappointed. Anyone have Drumagog 4, IK CSR Hall reverb, or Sampletank 2 on your X2a update? I'm curious to see if anyone else has run into this.

I have Drumagog 5 and did not have any problems with it before and after the vst rescan. However, I use the iLok method for copy protection. I remember when I used to use challenge/response in 64 bit SONAR it would always hang the vst scanner. Their tech people said it was and issue with PACE, but I don't know if version 4 uses that or not.

Staff view: The idiot note selection menu still exists. Just stupid. Track view: still no indication of take lanes until the track is opened to reveal the take menu toggle's soft blue glow: dumb. Stubborness. After all the complaints from the past 2 years I was hoping some of the declutter/menu hysteria would have been modified. We have a command/ribbon box to quickly select any screen set, with clear indication of which is selected, even though the number keys are easy to find and use. But we still have to use a menu to select note values which are changed much more often than clicking the screen set buttons. And we have to move to the ribbon to change note values instead of having quick/close access to buttons that display state. NOOOOO we have to READ the note values. ======================== And what makes me really crazy about the X series: Sonitus presets: My dozens of EQ presets used to be displayed on ONE screen, for quick 1 click loading. BUT NOW:::::::::::::; ANOTHER MENU with 6 folders are displayed for multiple click search and selection. These are clear examples of mental illness.

LANEY X2a Rock solid here! Recorded two songs, One with Dimension Pro and it hung for about 25 seconds then everything works just like it should. I really dig the free Christmas Sounds, Lots of great tones in there! Thanks Cake! What are the free Christmas sounds? Do they come with the X2a update?

Funkybot They still haven't fixed the stolen Keystrokes from U-He plugins when saving presets. Worked in 8.5, upgraded to X2, and suddenly I'm unable to give presets in DIVA any kind of reasonable name. Was really hoping that would have been fixed, or do the Cakewalk staffers just not use DIVA or any of the other U-he synths? Or perhaps they just don't roll their own presets. I have the problem too, as I use a lot of U-He plugins. Fortunately, however, the U-He plugins store all the presets as files in a presets folder. You can go do the folder and rename the presets there.

The Christmas sounds are a collection of DimPro presets that are available for download from your store account. They are not part of X2a.

Download and install painless. In limited (4 hours) testing no issues. About to go do some serious work. Wish me luck! Best liked bonus feature: In the ProChannel context menu, images of the PC Module(s) that can be inserted. For mentally deficient old folks like me this is major. LOL Sorry to read of some of the problems people are having, hope you get them settled. Regards,

Yeah, I'm really liking it so far. In addition to all the good stuff already mentioned, I haven't had a crash in the browser when quickly moving between clips. Oh, and after accidentally closing the PC and immediately scrolling, I saw that the TI itself scrolled instead! I don't remember that ever happening before.

All my IK Multimedia products crash Sonar X2a. If I run in admin mode, I get asked to reauthorise, but my other host (FLstudio) just carries on as usual - no problem with IK plugins. Any advice? - should I just bite the bullet, run in admin mode and reathorise all my IK plugins, and if I do this, will they still work when I run Sonar in normal user mode? I also had to reauthorise V-station, but so far these are the only plugins that I've had problems with
