Cmon Wiz... pull the trigger.. it is worth it... DNA is simply amazing and the ARA implementation within SONAR is as high tech as it can get. I didn't like using the DNA stand alone (too much hassle) saving audio, loading Melodyne... editing the audio... saving the work and then reloading X3.... Of course it wasn't supposed to work like this but X2 and earlier would simply crash too much to try and do this IN LINE... now, it is almost as MELODYNE is an integrated part of SONAR... what a joy! I got the personalized email, but the personalized purchase link did not display on the page, either in Internet Explorer or Seamonkey (firefox/mozilla derivative). Possibly an overloaded server on their site.

That's good... between X3 and BFD3 I've overspent on my musical purchases for the month and I think I'll have to pass for now. I'm not that much of a pitch correction user, but the features in Editor do sound tempting. Ugghhh... so much software, so little time.

the scale correction is awesome! i prefer hungarian minor, but it's hard for me to hum a tune in it... just whistle a little something into sonar, engage melodyne's scale correction and drag it to a midi track and i'm set! ;)

Well I guess I didn't get a letter with the offer because I already had essentials installed. So when I installed X3 I skipped over the sonar essential version. Hmmm??????????? What to do. I emailed Celemony but no response yet.

bobletteross Anyone having trouble buying at the Celemony site? Rejecting both good credit cards....weird... keeps saying check numbers....
The same thing happened to me... (I'm assuming you're in America?) I checked my credit card's website, and realized that my account had been locked. So I called the card company, and they told me it's because I tried to make a purchase from a company in Germany (Celemony)... So they assumed it was fraud, and locked my account. So I just told them "Nope, that was me..." and after about 25 minutes of horrible phone support, they finally unlocked my account, and I was able to make the purchase. So I would assume it's the same issue that you're having? With that being said... I bought the upgrade to Melodyne Editor 2 days ago... (October 1st)... What are the chances that they would still give me the discount price somehow? (Refund or something?) Am I just out of luck for jumping the gun on this one? I'm sort of keeping my fingers crossed, because I agree with the people that are saying the upgrade price to X3, plus the upgrade to Editor (plus BFD3), plus paying rent, etc... It all stacks up pretty quickly... I TOTALLY could have waited 2 more days to make the upgrade if I would have known that there would be a discount like this so quickly.

I wish that I had paid only $150 for my Editor upgrade from Essential but I have no regrets. It's a great tool. While I like Melodyne a lot more than V-Vocal, I still keep V-Vocal around because it has has a couple of tricks missing in Editor (like the pencil editing tool).

I think the email offer only went out to people who had already upgraded to X3 and registered Melodyne Essential. I assume if you upgrade to X3 now, you will soon receive that same offer.

Benny Bear The ARA integration is superb and makes the X3 upgrade worthwhile in itself. I already have Melodyne Editor and use it extensively.
I also had editor v 1.1 so the upgrade to 2 was only $49..I think if your going in cold you have to set up an account at Melodyne or the purchase process guides you through setting one up
I too had Editor 1.1 but recently received an email from Celemony with a link to download the 2.1.1 as a free upgrade. It said something about it being a one-time download and NOT to interrupt the download. I downloaded it and it installed just fine right over my previous version. Working great with no problems.

Thanks anotherpaul, that was useful. I had the same thing happen last night. I kinda figured that's what I'd try next when I got time. By the way. I got the offer to upgrade right as I was registering the Sonar version of essentials. I took them up on it and it had a link to a "personalized" download. 10 minutes later I also got the email offer. They make it clear that it's the same software, just with different authorizations for all the advanced functions based on the registration. Now if I can just get it to recognize the new reg number. Tomorrow I'll uninstall and try the install with the new reg number. Seems odd this would be an issue though. You'd think an upgrade would be a really routine procedure. Can't wait to get my hands into X3. Too busy to get dirty with it for a while. Warning: Success Sucks! I remember seeing a comedienne who said her therapist told her she was afraid of success. She said "yeah, I am a little afraid it'll cut into my sittin' around on my azz time". ;)

For me I just went into the license screen and entered the new serial. Are you running Sonar and/or Melodyne as an Administrator? Some software requires this.

I briefly ran through the menu choices and "about" etc. Didn't see a license screen. I am completely new to Melodyne. Is there a menu access to that screen, or are you talking about the one that comes up when you haven't registered yet? (Thanks for your interest.)

I just availed myself of the Celemony offer. Too good to pass up. I am particularly interested in the audio to midi to create drum parts from audio recordings (drums only) so I can use them in an arranger board I have to create some really funky beats. I am sure I will use it for other things though One question (and I could not find a direct answer at the Celemony website)......Do I need to uninstall Essential first, before installing Editor? Does anyone here know? Thanks

I have been involved in software development since 1970, and since 1973 professionally. I majored in Computer Science back when that involved studying hardware down to the gate level and building software all the way down to the machine code level. While I am impressed by a great many products -- and few products are more impressive than SONAR X3 in its richness of function and elegant user interface -- there are only two program that still amaze me every time I use them. One is Band-in-a-box. I still can't get my head around how it does everything it does -- coming so close to the true human touch, and actually playing with more "human emotion" than most human musicians. That program has amazed me for over a decade and the amazement hasn't diminished one bit. And now Melodyne joins BIAB on my list of completely amazing, unfathomable programs. Even if I didn't actually want to use any of its features, I would own that just for its value as a work of art. And then the $150 offer!? That took about 2 seconds to decide. The cats can eat sawdust for a week or two. (OK. No angry letters from PETA, please. All 11 of our cats are well cared for and eat better than I do. And fortunately for them, almost all of them are music lovers.)

In Melodyne, find the help menu. Select "License", then "Enter Serial Number". I didn't uninstall Essential first, just installed Editor over it - although it seemed as if it didn't actually imstall anything, which would fit with Melodyne's statement that "Melodyne Single Track" is basically all one program and the different licenses unlock how much functionality you get.
