I gave in and purchased Editor. I had a guitar part I wanted to convert to midi. It did not work because Essential is monophonic only. Going to try again now that I have Editor. Thanks for the push over the edge!

This is an evil thread. If someone would just say something 'bad' about the Editor upgrade, I could proceed with buying the EHX 8 Step Program & Controller that I really 'need' for my pedalboard.

Sorry man, it rocks. And it is one piece of software that doesn't really get old and will stay with you for the rest of your career using DAWs. It's that good, it works with any DAW, and this is a great time to be getting it. More and more DAWs will start to support ARA and you get the full version, not locked to Sonar...
That said, "buy it when you need it" can also be a good rule. If you'd be getting it purely because of the "hip" factor, maybe you could wait for the next sale.

I really wasn't going to upgrade to Editor, but I think I'm going to be glad I did. I just started using it tonight and it is more intuitive to me than V-Vocal ever was. All I've done so far is a vocal track, which the included version probably would have done, but I'm sure I'll be using it more and probably be using it to clean up a few guitar tracks now and then. Well worth the investment I think.

GMGM For anyone still waiting for an e-mail, just register a myCelemony account here... http://www.celemony.com/c.../WebObjects/LicenseApp It'll forward you to an upgrade offer. I'm downloading now. Too bad I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow night to install / play.
I've been really busy at work for the last 3 weeks and the end of the October 16th Editor upgrade is approaching fast. Do you need to install X3 Producer to be able to get register Melodyne Essential, or is the registration part of the Sonar X3 download information you are provided if you order the X3 download? Just wondering if it is too late to download X3 and also take advantage the Melodyne Editor upgrade.

Melodyne Editor 2 was already high on my "have to get that one" list. Since the best price I found was $288 for Editor2, on eBay, I see getting BOTH the X3PE upgrade and Melodyne Ed2 upgrade as quite the bargain! I have to wait a bit to jump on it, but can't wait to spend that $300! LOL Michael

I cannot be sure on the offer, but I am assuming the registration of Melodyne Essential with X3 then triggers the "upgrade to Melodyne Editor for $150." I believe it is part of the packaging partnership with SONAR, so would not expect it to expire anytime soon. However... the registration of the Melodyne Essential is the "trigger" for the upgrade to Editor offer (I think it was a 10-day window to redeem it). Michael

Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk] I believe the offer does end on October 16th.
Actually, if anyone is aware, the offer is valid for ten days from registration of X3's Melodyne Essentials. So there is no "end of offer" date as of yet. Check it out for yourselves. A partner of mine just bought X3, registered Essentials soon after and his upgrade offer for Editor is good until the 20th. Mine was until October 13th (registered on Oct. 3). I received an email from Celemony on 2nd October (having registered Melodyne pretty early - downloaded X3 on day of release), and it stated:- "Upgrade to Melodyne editor now for only USD/€149 instead of USD/€299! That’s 50% off the regular upgrade price. This offer lasts until 2013-10-16, and can only be accessed through this link." Was glad I did - with it's integration in X3 it is fantastic..

Are you saying that the offer ends on October 16 or that you were given more that 10 days for the offer? BTW, what country are you located in? I'm asking in the event that may make a difference in the time frame. But if you are contending that I am wrong with the 10 day offer, should people buy before the 16, believe they have sixteen days to from date of Essential registration (with Celemony) or perhaps consider that maybe most others were also given ten days from the date of registration with Celemony? If you can look back in this thread, not everyone was given until the 16th for the upgrade offer and neither was I nor my partner. Kind regards, Living Room Rocker

Hi Zo, ARA integration is with X3 only. I can't really say how things work with X1 as I really don't use it any more. I didn't uninstall the "Essential" version when I upgraded to Editor, however I now see that I have both editor and essential are activated in my melodyne account. Cheers - Cliff

Hi Zo, do you mean have both Melodyn Essential AND Editor ?. Sorry, I see I made a mistake in my comment above :-) What I should have said is "I DID uninstall Melodyne Essential before installing Editor". What I didn't do, was deactivate the Melodyne Essential install on the Celemony website - so Celemony stilll shows my Melodyne Essential install as activated on the PC where I installed it. So ... no, the region FX only has Melodyne Editor, or VVocal - I did uninstall Essential :-) Cheers - Cliff

I believe you have to register in order to get the upgrade offer automatically. However you could probably contact the company to request that offer manually.

I've needed to take the contact them directly route. My offer said it was good until Oct 15. I tried the link I had received today (which is the 14th) and the store page that the link took me to did not have the offer pricing. So I've sent a message inquiring about it now that I'm ready to give it a go.

I did this as I tried to upgrade today and my link didn't work when it should have. The reply I got back said they have extended the offer for sonar users until the end of November. I'm not sure if the link I got was a personal one or not but hopefully cake will announce this officially asap.
