jackn2mpu ...Anderton may be a valued member of this forum; if only he produced that same value with Gibson/Cakewalk and not only 10-15%. When someone puts themselves out as a face of Gibson/Cakewalk they had better be able to produce answers to questions liked asked about in this thread other than to say what was said.
This whole conversation appears to be based on a misunderstanding. Craig isn't here as a representative of Cakewalk, or even of Gibson. Craig was a SONAR user long before he went to work for Gibson. He'd be here offering advice even if his day job was as a doorman at Trump Tower.
Wait - you are suggesting that Craig works in Donald Trump's Cabinet? (coat room - hee hee) I have seen Craig POUR hours of effort into helping any number of users - sometimes ones that are fresh in the middle of major rants, so he's got my permanent vote as Okie Dokie in my book. :) Bob Bone

I would also point out that these are User Forums, and that any Cakewalk staff pop in as often as the choose to in order to clarify or answer or diffuse something is a wonderful bonus. Companies quite often try really hard to give timelines as certainties, when speaking of releasing new products - or even new versions of existing products, and while for whatever reason there was a general time frame for a preliminary beta-level Mac version - there are likely dozens of reasons why that particular event has been skipped for now. But, obviously they put some likely large amount of effort into building that to a point where they thought it might be able to come out in an alpha state - and that alone is encouraging. Hopefully, they will figure out whatever has altered that - and folks will be better off by them putting out something better than what might have shown up those few months back. Let's not lose our heads over this - Cakewalk has done a pretty good job over the decades, and my vote is to accept that they will continue to do things the best way they see fit, for a bigger picture view than maybe we see. This is what happens when threads go off topic. We know less about a Mac version then we did before this thread was started.

as a reference point, MOTU's Windows version of DP was almost a year behind schedule when it finally came out. There is nobody who is a member of this forum sitting around waiting for a mac version just so they can finally start making music. Go run your own business and see how it works.

A Mac Alpha version was said to be ready in the fall. We are midwinter. It is high time Cakewalk informs their customers as to what is going on.

Hi John , Yes, that happens to be a very good observation . It appears we know less and less about the Mac version . Now we know more and more about our forum ... Kenny

yes, if only threads could somehow kept on topic, or be managed somehow, to keep them on topic, maybe by some kind of special users, like hosts or something? we know now exactly the same as we did before about the mac version, no more no less

As this thread has deteriorated there is no point in its continuation.
Thanks.
