  • Anyone got Maschine 2.0 and it's controller working in VST mode in X3D?

I'm able to use Maschine 2.0 as a VST with Sonar X3D as the sequencer. Maschine drums all responding to one midi channel and Maschine synth sounds responding to various midi channels. But I can only do it using my keyboard as the controller. I have not figured out how to do this with the Maschine controller. I have the Mikro Mk2. Why do I care? Because I like to program the drums using the keypads. Anyone have a clue?

Are you using Maschine in pad mode or keyboard mode?
Have you got it running with the Maschine app? (rather than the plugin).
When you start the Maschine app click Controller on the menu, if your controller isn't displayed here then you probably haven't installed the drivers.
And in Sonar don't forget to enable it in preferences.

BTW I strongly recommend this, it's worth putting the time in otherwise you're always stuck on something, it can get into quite some depth (worth the money IMHO):

I guess I'm running the app as apposed to the plugin (but you may have to elaborate on the difference) I just insert Maschine 2.0 ( just as I did with 1.8) My controller is listed in the menu and checked in preferences. Here's my video how I did it in 1.8 but apparently i can't use the same method in 2.0:

Oh of course I've seen that vid was very helpful.
The app runs on the windows start menu, the plugin runs within Sonar.
So you can use Maschine as a controller within the plugin, just not with multiple tracks right and the way you want it?

I'm going to have a template out soon (might have to wait till Maschine 2.1/ Sonar X3E comes out though which should be soon, as I hope this will make life simpler), this is how I set it up more or less: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Maschine-MIDI-note-mapping-m2990064.aspx utilizing pretty much all the MIDI channels.

And for the audio side (having a fake MIDI clip is essential):

I might have missed it in your link but are you using the Maschine controller or a keyboard? Oh and I'm obviously running the plugin. I got confused because I refer to "app" as standalone.

I'm using the Maschine controller in PAD mode (not keyboard mode nor in MIDI controller mode). I do not need to use a keyboard. Full info the posts, it's a read but there you go :) Cheers.

Got it Alex, but the way I'm using it the midi records to the proper notes, not the same note.

Not sure what you mean, do you mean you are using Maschine keyboard mode rather than PAD mode?

I'm saying I want to use my MAudio keystation 88, which works perfectly, AND the Mikro Mk2 which won't work. I want Maschine to act like any other VST without jumping through so many hoops. I use the MK2 in pad mode.
By the way thank you for your help, I truly appreciate it bro!

Yeah there are definitely too many hoops with 2.0.
I figure wait till 2.1 and X3E if you are able to wait.
I'll throw up a template up just as soon as they are out... Cheers Tony..
