Feature request is closed (for now) but I wanted to see if we can get a pole started to see how many people believe that screensets would be more functional if they were made to be absolute.
i.e. to say, a screenset should remember everything EXACTLY as it is set, and we should never have to reset something because screenset has no control over that visual aspect of the gui.
Specifically I'm talking about the controller pane in the PRV and also the piano keyboard on the left side of the PRV.
As most of you know, there is no way to hide the controller pane in PRV ( and also the piano keyboard on the left )
and have it stay hidden the next time we open that project, or even the next time we go back to that screenset.
I'd like to hear from users who agree that this needs to be implemented,
and I'd also like to hear from Cakewalk staff with an explanation
as to why the controller pane (and piano on left) in PRV is always popping up and can't be gotten rid of on a permanent basis, either by saving the project with it hidden, or by creating a screenset with it hidden and locking the screenset.
If the developers have a concrete reason why this impossible, undesirable, if they think there are are too few of us that want it, or why they just don't want to do it, then I'd like to hear about that also.
------------
Now on a personal note, so no one wonders why I'm asking about this, and no one chimes in telling me why I need the controller pane, I know when I need it, and I know when I don't want it.
My general big project template is usually 6 PRV open and locked in the dock.
Some of those PRV need the controller pane hidden and some don't.
One of them, which contains every midi track in the project, always needs to have as much realestate as possible so it needs the controller pane and the keyboard on the left to be gone, all of the time.
Side note to the Cakewalk team:
Sonar Producer 4.0.2 always remembers and reloads the project with the controller pane hidden and the piano on the left hidden.
Is this lost functionality an over sight or "as intended?"
If it is 'as intended' then can you please tell us what we users gain by this intention?
Thank you!
