*Yawn* ... everyone knows Chrome works on these forums. Mike, did you not get enough attention as a kid? You seem to be trying so hard to become Bapu '2', but I'm afraid you're missing one vital ingredient. Class. :-)

Mike ... it looks good here. It's prompted me to give it another whirl. Last time I tried it, and I admit it was quite some time ago, it didn't work. Thanks, Bub.

mike_mccue test test test It seems to be working ok. Bapu ... my apologies ... I was wrong. Well ... actually not totally wrong. I just tried to Italicize the word 'totally' and it will only let me do it after I've typed the word, then highlight, then click Italicize it. Kind of a pain in the ass because I use it a lot to emphasize certain things, but not see too offensive by making it bold or larger font. And it doesn't seem to obey my line breaks very well. So it's only partially working. Firefox 3.6.XX is still the only one fully 100% functioning. Back to FF.

After testing a few browsers the last few days, I've discovered that on my system, the latest Firefox is the fastest. Beats Chrome and IE9, but it doesn't work with the forums, and apparently you can't have two separate browsers open at the same time anymore. At least not two versions of Firefox. Grr.

When something doesn't work perfectly in all the modern browsers these days, it's usually because it's either very poorly designed, or very OLD. Take this forum software for example. I'm guessing it's built upon code that was written at least 10 years ago. The latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera etc...are all good. At least, there is nothing wrong with them that should screw up websites that have been designed to modern standards. How they differ, I suspect, is in how they deal with ye ancient code.

We've had 2 Polish guys in fitting our new kitchen (that's Polish as in the Eastern European kind, not what you use to clean your furniture ) and - if you're at all familiar with the Compare the Market adverts, will find this amusing - I was talking to one of them about computers and he gave me their web address, with warning to type it directly into the Address bar "do not type into Googles" Which left me chuckling a good 20 minutes later. What an accent this guy had (as well as being a fantastic craftsman)
