2500+ Waveforms at the [Cakewalk] Store
-

First, the disclaimer: I'm not employed by [Cakewalk] or Galbanum. I bought the license to this wavetable set. For myself, there's no money to be made from it. That is, unless you consider the work that it's saved me with constructing my own similar wavetables in an audio editor. At little more than a penny a piece, yeah ... I 'made money' on that deal. Are they that good? Yes, but don't take my word for it. Check out the detailed material on the Resources page. If you really want to know what I personally think about this set, read my review here. And I don't write reviews. This should be obvious, but this set will work in any flavor of Dimension, Rapture, z3ta+, or anything else that supports the .wav format. I can't speak directly for Mac users, but there's clear indications of compatibilty there as well.

Thanks for the heads-up, b rock, I'm going to purchase this tonight! So, how much do I owe you for this?

THANKS for this! I hadn't seen it yet. Whoa, for the price and, just now perusing the library, the quality this is a must buy for tweakers. Maybe for non-tweakers, too. Mike

44.1/24, if I recall correctly. For me, they shine when interpolated by the Expression Engine(s). I mean, they're oscillators, really. Or LFOs, or StepGen templates, or 'drawbars', or ... They started out in MetaSynth, jumped to Absynth, part of that went into Massive, they doubled in number for Universal Waveforms, and the CE collection gained 700 more unique ones. If these details aren't exactly accurate, don't shoot the messenger. So, how much do I owe you for this?
One tongue-lashing if you think that I steered you wrong for the price.

Thanks, B. This looks ... insane ... honestly. So, of course, it's fascinating, and I'm probably going to get it.

Tom, I may have mentioned something similar to this set in our conversations once. Say, if you happen to talk to Jim, ... a must buy for tweakers. Maybe for non-tweakers, too.
Mike, if you 'got it' that quickly from looking at the docs, I'd say that you're definitely the tweaker-type. I was talking about this to someone today who's much closer to the non-tweaker category. He said, "Now how would *I* use this, without getting as deep into it as you do?" My response to him was to take existing presets, and just start swapping out the Multisamples with those in the CE set. He must've 'gotten it' at that point. I haven't heard a word from him since.

Mike, if you 'got it' that quickly from looking at the docs, I'd say that you're definitely the tweaker-type. Well, yeah, I guess I'm a tweaker I bought the library and already have 4 nice pads out of it. Gotta work up some lead sounds. It's not that I don't like the patches that come with Rapture/Dim Pro/z3ta but there just not *mine* if you know what I mean... Mike

Also, that's good advice for non-tweakers, and it's the fastest way to get them hooked! Mike

I download the library and will try it when I get home. Do you need a serial number for this product. After I downloaded the item it say to click a link for your serial number. When I do it takes me to my registration page but there is no serial number or no listing for Galbanum Architecture Waveforms Cakewalk Edition. Did you guys need any serial number? Thanks Ed

I happened to stumble upon this set early on, and it was a simple .zip file extraction. Now I see from the store that there are installers involved, so I'm not certain what might have changed with the installation requirements. I'm sure that someone else will chime in here, and relate their own experiences with it.

At the Download page, there is a message below the "Download" button reading: "Once you complete the download of your product(s) you can receive your serial number by clicking here. The product(s) serial number is required to use your product." EDIT: I installed both the Architecture Waveforms and CE Bonus packs and it never asked for a serial number, yet everything seems to be working fine in both Rapture and DimPro. I also went through the registration process just for kicks, but no serial number was generated, so I assume that it does not actually need one.

Meh, what am I doing wrong here: downloaded the installer, it unpacks to my DimPro Multisamples dir in 2 secs flat - can't find a thing. Run it again, unpack to new dir - empty. Erm? What's the deal? [edit - forget it already, I just unpacked it manually - one superdorky install, this.]

Yeah...7-Zip wouldn't unpack it. I had to use the native Windows XP unzip utility on my laptop (where I have yet to install 7-Zip). ...weird. However, I like the fact that this entire waveform library only takes up 22.5MB UNPACKED. That means it fits comfortably on my laptop system drive with the rest of my Rapture samples; and it's a fast install. This is my kind of "sample library". Thanks to b rock for the heads up.

Poke around the zip file because there are an extra 500 waveforms available on the Galbanum web site for the CE edition. I've fooled around with this set a little bit last night (OK, *and* this morning ); there's some *really* good stuff here, both for osc purposes and LFO purposes. So far I've only used Rapture, but I shall next venture into z3ta+ with it, then maybe Dim Pro. Here's a tip: for a poor man's morph put a waveform into two elements then use and LFO to modulate the amplitide of each (out of phase). Cool! Use 4 or 6 elements and different LFO shapes and speeds and you get complex thingies. Mike

Yup...got the extra 500. It requires you to register with Galbanum -- not a big deal.

Credit card...that may be why you are waiting, as some companies will verify Paypal transactions before you get the download links. I only ever use Paypal as a last resort, partially for this reason...

I've got one more 'quickie' for you: Load one of the .wavs from the Formant - Sine. Set up an Amp Step Gen to Step mode, with a 6 Step count total. Copy the StepGen to the other six Elements (Amp Modulator). As you do, load up another Formant - Sine .wav, add a little Smooth, and raise the step to match the Element number. (IOW: Step 1 gets raised to maximum in E1, Step 2-6 to minimum. In E2, Step 2 to max; Step 1 and 3-6 minimum, ...) Instant 'vocalizations'. If you have trouble with the sequencing, Save As .prog, and relaunch Rapture. That resets the internal Step mode counter. there are an extra 500 waveforms available on the Galbanum web site for the CE edition.
I think that's available to [Cakestore] purchases. They *were* to be included with purchases at Galbanum's site, but I may have been 'too-early' of an adopter. Anyone have a rough idea of the Bonus CE folder names? Maybe I already have these; maybe not.

Documentation, Additive Sine, BandLimited, Iterations, Phase Shift, Serries and Smoothed. - a small return favour, thx, will take ages for me to get my head around this but I thought - if I'm EVER going to go deep into Dim Pro, this is as good a reason as any
