The CHB - (Bow Before) Asparapuss
The Evil Bing the Berciless smitten with the common cold (Ming Flu) was given, after 48 years of suffering, to vent his anger at feeling poorly, he took it out upon his favourite Asparagus soup after interfering with the snack in an unspecified way he flung it across the Universe in his rage. Being irradiated on it's journey the soup landed on the vowelless planet Grzylyrg (pronounced 'Zi-lurg'), which as you probably know is home to the infamous Sabre Toothed Mountain Eating Leopard. One fine specimen among these proud beasts couldn't believe her luck in finding a small 256 gallon* (*evaporation during it's journey has been taken into account here) bowl of her favourite broth and downed the lot in order to take the taste of a particularly 'volcanic' mountain away. Had the story ended there we'd still be living in the peace and harmony we knew yesterday. Sadly nature took it's course at this point and the Leopard needed to pass the soup and did so on some particularly fertile soil, from this giant pool of Leopard 'let out' some seedlings of an eerie looking new plant took root! Meanwhile, Bing still feeling the misery of his bout of flu decided to zap the planet Grzylyrg partly just for fun and partly out of fear that someone (e.g. Heinz or Campbells) could reverse engineer his closely guarded Asparagus soup recipe. Astronomers here had noted that Grzylyrg had disappeared overnight but failed to notice some of the dust of that planet was headed toward Earth. Just one seedling (as far as we know!) survived this journey and thus gave birth to a horrific entity, an entity that came to threaten our entire existence lest we bowed before him. Represented here in Song is the chronicle of those now legendary events. Written by: SteveStrummerUK and Space Cowboy Featuring AlexOffTheHook: Interpreted the seedlings intergalactic journey into the fantastic 'overture' leading into the song. SteveStrummerUK: Provided all the guitars needed to overpower this crazy plant cat. Bapu (That or Ed): Gave us the subsonic low frequency weaponry that shook the very ground underneath the vile creature. Fog: Donated some of his Chemical Synth alchemy and stunningly puts you in the pilots seat of the hero tasked with the elimination of the beast. Jonbouy: Pounded his desk incessantly while tasked with the job of bringing all this reedeming power to bear on the listeners ear. Space Cowboy: Is telling us the tale, in truth, just as it happened. These people are ' The Coffee House Band', protectors of civilization and unsurpassed saviours of the Universe. So I beg of you now: (Bow Before) Asparapuss

That's truly fun!!! You guys should take a few more of the absurdities propagated here in the house to task.... I suggest that you go with a theme CJ and the Marvelous Soundblaster.

Is this a love song? Very creative music and especially the lyrics. On the technical side, the mix seemed very harsh in the upper midrange and not much low end getting through on my system. On the home pet side, my cat must love it. She gave me that condescending, I'm better than humans look while we were listening. Great work guys. Good luck with the Chubbies.

and not much low end getting through on my system. Mark, Could be your system. It's got BIG bottom here on my $20 earbud headphones. The same ones I used during mixing to check the "cheap" setup. Yes, it is a love song as far as I can tell. I only speak Grzylyrgese, tho.

Well I like this, but it is just so "me too". I mean just another asperapuss song on the heap? How many of these can be done? Don't get me wrong, it was a nice version of "a old worn out concept". Another Asperapuss "remake".

Absoflippinlutely great fun. I believe that I am now a CHuBby (is that the correct spelling of the singular?). The vocals are (in 1950's parlance) "crazy man crazy" (that's good). I really liked the feel of the guitar work. And the story ---"crazy man crazy". Does this story (assuming it is non-fiction) mean that a new biological kindom has to be named --- something like Plantaemalia?? Salud and Happy Days! Freddy J

Lots going on in this monster. The drums kick-ass....the rhythm guitar is great...the lead guitar lacks melody and depends to much on delay to carry it through. The low end is sublime and needs to come up...high mids need to be rolled off a tad bit....Great job on the creation/arrangement.

Wow what an incredible response already. Reece: Glad you enjoyed, thanks for the props on the drums, I tried, and yes we're still laughing at SC's lyric too... Rick: Caffiene issues indeed, there's way too much time that elapses between each fresh cup. I love the high school bands comment imagine a load of youngsters thinking us ol' farts were cool... James: Thanks man, it's always good to get past quality control with a positive. Appreciated! farrarbc: Fun was the target glad you enjoyed, I think there maybe a few more of those absurdities given 'the treatment' over time... Janet: Hah! And you thought we were just flunking off... edentowers: Wow works for us! Difficult to say what comes next as there's a few in the pipe already. Bill: LOL, as longs as you keep bowing you should be safe, don't have nightmares... SteveJL: I kinda like the 'Scorpions' reference, glad you liked. Greg: Fan club president hmmm, does that mean you'd get the pick of the nice ones? We'll have to confer a meeting on that!... Birthday Mark who's 50: Yes you may have a point I did have an eq curve set on the master project that addressed those particular areas but I took it out as I don't always trust my listening enviroment so the feedback is cool, and tells me agin I should always take note of my first instinct. Glad the cat got them subliminal messages!... Kev: Glad you like it and you are now a fan of the plant cat. Gary: Yeah I love that line too...haha! Thanks for the props your stuff don't sound too shabby either! Tom: We're sure glad to be able to excercise a few laughter lines. Creative thinking, man there's 2 pages of emails a day with this lot exchanging ideas...and I'm not kidding you there. Robby: I know the old fertile soup meets lady snow leopard yarn is a tired old cliche but sometimes you have to go with what ya got! Freddy: Plantaemalia! yes good word. I'll bet one of these guys have got lyrics down for that already, glad you could join in the fun. Scotty: Personally I love Strummy's solo here to me its completely the job, not sure where you are getting the delay 'carrying' anything there. But hey ho thats a musical decision not a tech issue. I agree with the overall eq as I outlined to Mark. Glad you liked the rest though.
