New Song - Bing The Berciless (updated mix 01/24/2010)

Yes, The Coffee House Band has done it again.

What is "IT" you ask?

We've released the final (well, actually the second) song in the Bing Trilogy.

We hope you enjoy it.

The fans speak and The Coffee House Band listens... and responds. New mix is now posted on Soundclick as of Jan 24, 2010 10PM (PST).

Here is the back story:

Nestled in between the ancient texts of Bing’s early discovery of his mountaintop fortress and the eminent doom of our planet Earth by his most evil plot (albeit by happenstance) known as Asparapuss, is this sweet and simple story of power and cruelty.

Bing rules his vowelless planet Grzylyrg (pronounced 'Zi-lurg') which such evil fervor that his street name, to those willing to speak of this vile ruler, is Bing The Berciless. At least that is how we mere mortals hear this name. It is a strange occurrence in their lexicon that the sound of M comes out sounding like a B. By all other accounts their speech patterns match ours of Earth given their alphabet contains no vowels. This anomaly shall perplex scholars, teachers, dentists, jackhammer operators and ventriloquists for eons to come.

The CHB, in their quest to tell the story of Bing in the appropriate sequence, view this aural account as the second installment of the trilogy. Although there are no plans to further document the exploits of Bing (history will prove if the Earth is truly doomed by the creature that is: not quite a Veggie and not quite a Cat) we do suggest that you nonetheless Beware.

Written by: Space Cowboy
Mixed by: Bapu (That or Ed)

Featuring the musings of:
  • Space Cowboy – Who tells the story, like no other all the while strumming and plucking metallic strands of metal near man made magnets.
  • Alex The Kook - Captured the quintessential voicing of the Sabre Toothed Mountain Eating Leopard. Think: Buzz Saw.
  • Steve Strummer - Brought forth the piercing tremors of evil spewed by Bing (apparently angered by some foolish mistake made by a lowly servant).
  • Bapu (That or Ed) - One again harnessed the low frequency dread and confusion that most of that sad planet feels when confronted by their ruler.
  • Jonbouy - Beat out the subtle yet effective warning signals (SOS) to the universe using the native percussive instruments of Grzylyrg.
  • Fog & Grant - Are still enjoying the misty summers on Grzylyrg. At Bing’s request.

The Coffee House Band offers this tale of woe and dread for your entertainment and amusement.

Beware, Bing The Berciless.

Really nice guitar sound, reminds me a little of Enter Sandman. What did you use? Very nice mix and cool vox that sat very well in the mix, maybe they could come up just a hint at the most busy parts as it can get buried a little. I like the relatively loud drums as and really like the snare sound. Very cool overall sound and nice guitar solo as well. Liked it.

    Keep it coming fellas!

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

Awesome job on this one....outstanding vocal development and delivery.....so catchy and contagious, one listen and you're humming it all day. Wonderful solo by Steve subtle at first then the awesome tap and whammy finale done like a fine craftsman. Bapsi's, Jon and Alex also gave a splendid and skillful performance....Love it!!!

Great job everyone. Excellent on each part and wonderful mix and tones on my system.
I sure noticed that the guitar part was played for the tune - really enjoyed it -and then that thought went to every part. And I liked the tune too. Aces.

    Proud....yeah I'd sure be.

    Hey Guys!

Very creative and SUPER COOL song!  Your collabs just keep getting better and better, and everybody is really smoking on this one!

The guitars sound excellent, the drums are incredible, the raspy vox are right on the money, great progressive rock bass playing and tone, and a scorching, tasty guitar solo at around 3:40!  The mix is clean and full sounding, really nice production work.

It reminds me of a classy fusion of Metallica, Motorhead and hold on now...... wait for it....... yes,...... SPINAL TAP!

Really dynamite job by everyone involved, guys, I can hardly wait for the next one!!

Where do you come up with this stuff???
Everything sounds great... Drums are monstrous...
    Great work Jon...
I'd like to hear the Bass and Vox bumped up a bit...
Can't quite make out some of the lyrics...
Very cool production... Love the faux-lesley guitar sound...
    How was that tracked?
This was fun... I've been entertained...

Deep, dark, warped, wicked..and the music too.... Excellent collab gents! Everyone's playing really shines on this. Jon's drums are really tight and the groove /snap on them is wonderful. The lead guitar hurt my fingers, and that tone is to die for. I was following the lyrics while listening to this and trying to picture the characters from the Bing dynasty. Wasn't he a lowly vase maker before he became the evil ruler??? Great tune, great playing, big sound, and an absolute pleasure to listen to.

Excellent!!  Great mix, creative writing (lyrics & music), and skillful and creative playing --- I must join in the crescendo of accolades above.  Everything about how it is put together, especially that wonderful lead guitar, gives this song an edge that does indeed make me want to "Beware".
Goodness gracious, we must really be doomed.

I flippin' love this! brilliant brilliant brilliant! guitars are stellar, the clean riff is a gem, loving the vocals, interesting tones you use. awesome drums too. only thing i would change is the solo, which sits a bit too forward from the rest of the mix for me. i mean the actual solo is cool, i'd just pull it back a smidge, maybe needs a touch more reverb to do that, or just lower the level. other than that, a great mix and master guys.

    congrats CHB another winner!

Cool song.  Mix is very clear - except the vox and bass could come up more, and maybe the drums dropped back just a tad.  All the eq-ing seems right on, just a matter of track levels.  Nice lead solo.  I wouldn't mind hearing a bit of echo delay on that track to smooth things out a bit.

Yet another aural assault from the CHB

As I said early and in the CH sound OK an the small coaxial Tanoys on the mail PC.  Just having another listen in the studio and the general balance of the mix is up CHB standards. (i.e. good) however the vox is a little less prominent on Event 20/20s

Nice job guys cool skins Jon and excellent axe work Space and Steve.

@Everyone - thanks for listening and giving feedback. There seems to be a general concensus that the bass and vox could come up a bit. The CHB aims to please, so we're on it guys (and dolls).

@James - yes Metallica are a laugh a minute compared to (That or Ed) Bapu
