SONAR: Master Class - Drum Production Episode I
Hello SONAR Forum, I wanted to let everyone know that we just posted the first installment of SONAR: Master Class. It's broken into five parts that are all loaded in the playlist below. You may also access each part individually. The video gives you a look at what you can do with drums in SONAR. It is recommended that you listen on decent speakers or headphones if possible. Remember to set the player to 1080 or 720 HD if your internet connection can handle it. Enjoy! (Special Thanks to Product Specialist Seth Perlstein for the had work in putting this together.) SONAR: Master Class Drum Production Episode I This Master Class explores writing, arranging and mixing drums in SONAR. Spotlighted are production techniques and workflow using Session Drummer 3, Step Sequencer 2.0, and PX-64 Percussion Strip. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5

Brandon, I watched one of these and they are super! Wow, I really liked the walkthrough. And, for once, I can actually see the details on the screen. The only thing I want is MORE! Thanks again for creating and posting these. Cheers!

It might have additional value to new, potential customers. For example, after watching the videos, it was amazing how many things could be done with the px-64 percussion module that might motivate those looking for a new DAW what Sonar can do and to purchase it. I've used the module before, but certainly not in those ways and I'm guessing that a lot of other DAWs don't have these features. Again, I feel that it demonstrates a lot of the hidden features of Sonar.

Very sweet! Would it be possible to enable downloading on these? YouTube is one of the sites that is very often too slow for me to use w/o a lot of waiting and frustration. It's odd, as other streaming video sites generally work fine and downloads zip right along too (obviously not all at the same time). Thanks, and great job with these! Gordon.

Remember to set the player to 1080 or 720 HD if your internet connection can handle it. Makes a huge difference in the audio quality. I hate videos about audio that sound bad. How can you take them seriously? These, though, sound decent at the higher resolutions. Seth, as always, does an excellent job. Seth is truly The Master of SONAR. Every time I've ever heard him talk I've learned something new. Consequently, I am willing to forgive the use of the word "dope" as an adjective.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

I've been using the FlashGot extension for Firefox, which did the trick until YouTube changed something on their side. Now it's hit and miss as to which vids will d/l. My past experiences with Real left me...unimpressed. But good to know that it's do-able, thanks! Gordon.

These vid's are great! I discovered that there were functions in Sonar I always wished were there, that already were, but I never knew it! It would be great if there was a way to download these tutorials ... Maybe a 'Tutorial Download' section on cakewalk.com for registered users could be created? I learned so much in this series. Thanks to everyone involved in making it. Shane

Thanks, these are really good! Nicely paced, very clear. Well done! -- probably the best I've seen from CW so far. They cover tools I don't generally use (except for the Percussion strip), but that didn't matter -- it was still nice to see the smoothness of Seth's workflow and presentation, and the PX-64 section was very helpful. Thanks again- -Susan P.S. And another +1 for DownloadHelper (using FF here). Works great.

Red Shirt Guy Hi Shane, WHYZ just pointed me to DownloadHelper, a Firefox extension. I've installed it and it's working perfectly. Do check it out! Gordon. Thanks Gordon and WHYZ. I got DownloadHelper working in Firefox like a charm. I used www.keepvid.com in the past, but their web site isn't working with newer video links like this Cakewalk series. All you did was copy/paste the video link in to a box on their web page. It seemed to be a lot faster than DownloadHelper when it worked. Thanks, Shane

Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to dig deep into Session Drummer, PX64, and the sequencer. Nice to see a few tips in there as well. I had yet to figure out how to mult-select tracks for example. I found this highly informative as a newb and am looking forward to future releases.

Dare I say it, this vid was of a high quality; unlike others I have seen. Keep up this level of detail in the vids. These are the things that make or break a company in this day and age of technology. This is what we need (feed us lol) and I guess, new users want to see. 8.5/10 Where's my upgrade fee?
