Sonar X2 Power! by Scott Garrigus
Scott, have you been using Sonar X2 and writing the new comprehensive guide for it? If so, when will it be available? If my recollection serves me right, Sonar X1 Power! was released 3 months after X1 was released. Also, will you cover the extra modules like the Concrete Limiter and the PC2A T-Type Amplifier? Can't wait to read your new book and hope it will also be available in a Kindle edition.

Usually Scott magically appears about now, but I assume he's in purdah at the moment until X2 is released! I've always found Scott's Sonar Power books essential and will be placing my order as soon as it's announced.

Hey Vince, Don, and John... Thanks very much for asking! I appreciate it. Yep, definitely working on a new book, but I don't know exactly when it will be released yet. I still have a lot of work to do. Should be both print and Kindle (and other eBook formats like Nook, etc.). Yes, I plan to include info on the added features and modules for the ProChannel. That's a major feature and I know a lot of people are using it regularly. I'll keep an eye on this topic for future reference and to share more info when I have it... Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. I'm looking forward to it! I plan on staying with X1 for awhile anyway. I only got it a few months ago and it does far more than I will ever use now. I had a chance to look at your book last week at Guitar Center, and it looked like a no brainer must have book. I ordered it from Amazon. Thanks

Hey Colin... if it doesn't fit, you'll just have to buy a new bookcase and then you'll have plenty of room. Thanks! Thanks, Bonjo! I appreciate the +1. Nice try Mesh... I can't say anything more than what Cakewalk has already revealed. They should be releasing more info at the end of the month. I can say that I like the new version though and having automation lanes is really nice. Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Hey Keith, Oh man... don't get me started. The official word is that the publisher is negotiating a new ebook deal with Amazon for their entire catalog, but it's been months now and there is still no word as to when it will be done. So in the meantime, I've been recommending people get the Nook version. I've got a link on my site: http://garrigus.com/?PowerBooks Even if you don't have a Nook, that's okay because Barnes & Noble provides free Nook reader apps for a variety of devices including Mac and PC, so you can still read the eBook without having to purchase the Kindle version. Illustrations are easily readable on the desktop nook application... ( I am using a 21.4 inch screen though ). My favorite thing about e-books.. 1. They never get lost, damaged, worn out, or other losses. 2. Accessible in your library, anywhere in the world. 3. Search, using the speed of a computer for anything you have bookmarked, highlighted, annotated. Even search for phases, and topics you have not bookmarked, highlighted, and annotated. When you are vacationing at the beach, and enjoying an ice cold Pina Colada, and are reading your favorite author... than a nice paperback is probably the way to go..... :-) For a reference guide to your audio software.. the e-book benefits are hard to beat imo...

Hi Muziekschuur -- it looks like Linear Phase already provided a nice answer about eBooks, but if you have any other questions, just let me know. Thanks! Hi Zonno -- no, there's isn't an epub version because that format is unprotected. The ebook is only available in protected formats. I don't actually have an eInk eReader, so I can't say for sure, but I know a lot of people have gotten the book for the Amazon Kindle eInk reader and as far as I know, the images look fine. I do have the Kindle reader software on PC and the images look fine with that. Thanks! Hi Linear Phase -- thanks for that great eBook explanation! Scott -- Scott R. Scott -- What are the chances that Sonar X2 Power book can be made available in spiral bound? There are some very nice ways to do this now. Much easier that way to go from the book to the screen and back again.

Hi Chuck and J, I can certainly ask the publisher about it and let them know that there was a request for spiral bound, but I'm 99% sure it won't happen. Publishers who are selling books to consumers want people to be able to see the book title on the spine when those books are sitting on the bookstore shelves. Textbooks and course ware for school don't matter as much because students are forced to purchase specific titles, so the publishers don't have to worry as much about promotion. There could also be additional costs involved, which would also make a big difference to the publisher. So, I'll definitely ask, but it probably won't happen. Sorry... Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Scott --- There is a spiral binding type that has a spine/cover that covers the spiral part. Not sure what the cost would be but I personally am willing to pay an additional $5-$10 more for that convenience. Couple of examples here: http://ouvpaper.en.alibab...ith_square_spines.html
