This is in response to a PM. I have been attacked by pros. I have been stalked here. I have had my persona counterfeited and a poster try to take over my being here. What people need to remember is that they are gone and I am still here. I have dealt with them all. I am stubern and when I believe in a thing I will pursue up untill the bitter end. I don't back away from a fight nor am I afraid of one. I am a combat veteran that has seen it all. When I think something is wrong I will speak out. Its that simple. If others find that a problem so be it. As long as I stay within the TOS of this forum I will be here. It matters not who likes it otherwise.

I have no idea what he's talking about, I can only assume that some threatened him via PM. Anyway ... I won't be here for much longer John ... you'll have the whole place to yourself. I'll probably be gone by Wednesday (hopefully) ... so nice knowing you and everyone else here.

You just didn't use the functions that were broken, such as Audio Snap, Snap To Grid.... See getting facts wrong always weakens an argument. Snap wasn't broken in X1, snap snapped i.e. it worked. The bug that you are referring to was caused by the PRV resetting the snap to its value when it was opened. If you always opened a PRV and set the snap in that before starting work you would never ever even notice the bug. I know because that's exactly how I worked round it. I reported the bug and then posted that solution many, many times on here as you well know. Others chose to post about it in every thread and call those of us that could work round it liars........ oh and untalented..... If you'd like to call BS on me I'll maybe go to the lengths of re-installing X1 and video the bug at work if that's what it takes to 'prove' it. I certainly don't 'deny' bugs - so far I've reported 22 of them - but there's a big difference between 'bug' and 'broken' - I guess that boils down to your outlook on life. I'm definitely a very positive, glass is half full kinda guy. Probably why I'm so happy with X1.......... Over exaggeration of bugs is just as damaging as denying them.......

Regarding yesterday's computer, mine is four years old. I've added some more memory, an SSD and upgraded to Win 7, but fundamentally, it's a 2007 machine that wasn't entirely cutting edge even then. It was put together carefully as a DAW rather than a general purpose machine though, I think that's probably the important bit.

Bud I never said who sent the PM. I wont either. That was sent as a PM meaning personal. The pm-er may not want any knowing about it. I was threatened either. No one would be so foolish. If I had been I would have sent it to CW for them to deal with. After receiving the PM it occurred to me that some don't have a clue about me. That was the only reason for posting above. Bud again we are still friends. You may have trouble understanding that but a silly post on a forum is not going to bother me nor should it you. Leaving is not the answer. Fixing your machine is. Actually I get a kick out of you. Hard to believe but yes I think your a good guy with a great sense of humor. We just disagree on X1. If at times I seem harsh I don't mean in personally.

Snap To has been broken and fixed at least twice that I'm aware of. I rarely use PRV except at the very end just before I mix, and I can tell you the Snap To settings were altering while just in Track View. But, I never gave specifics about the Snap To ... I just said it was broken, which it was ... you added in all the extra intent. I reported the bug and then posted that solution many, many times on here as you well know. Others chose to post about it in every thread and call those of us that could work round it liars........ oh and untalented.....

I'm definitely a very positive, glass is half full kinda guy. Probably why I'm so happy with X1.......... I couldn't get Audio Snap to work when X1 was released, could you? I couldn't get the snare sample that I use in 99% of my projects to work after they released the X1a patch, if that isn't broken I'm not sure what is. And honestly, there is no difference between a bug and something being broken. If I can't reliably use a function of the software, it's broke. Over exaggeration of bugs is just as damaging as denying them....... There has been no over exaggeration of bugs on my part. I've just pointed out that there were some things that were and still are broken (or buggy if it makes you feel better) that everyone has on their system. Just because you don't use that function doesn't mean you get to claim it doesn't exist. Anyway, this illiterate **** is going to go eat some supper you untalented hack. LOL!!!!!! I'll be back later. :) Thanks for the fun. :) Bub.

John Leaving is not the answer. Fixing your machine is. I'm not leaving because I want to, I found a job. Well, it's a job I can have if I want it, I haven't gotten back to them yet. I have to let them know tomorrow, but I have no choice, I have to take it. Bennie's are running out in a few weeks so I have no time to keep looking. I'll be on call 24/7 to pick up railroad engineers during shift changes along the line where ever they may be in the state. Then I have to take them back to the location where their vehicle is parked. They said it's about 600 miles a day I'll have to drive rain or shine (which translates to you'll have to drive in the snow, sleet, freezing rain). It pays next to nothing ... but next to nothing is better than nothing I guess. So, I won't have time for any of this anymore until something better comes along. It's been fun though, even with all the bickering.

StarTekh kc2ine: did you fix your system yet.. is all I wana know.. well, my system is perfectly fine it was just one 8.5 LE crash and now is working fine, but I have back switched to Sonar VS because UI is better then 8.5. Easier to work with. This topic was not about my crash but potential problems with X1 which I'm considering to get. I remember years ago roland had some deals also with Cubase, I wonder if it's now any good...or more stable then Sonar. Releasing beta version of programs is really bad pratice nowadays but unfortunately quite popular...

kc2ine I mean come on, how cakewalk can release such crash-able application, they have no money for QA or not giving a damn? Being in IT myself I don't get it because there are techniques since some time already to prevent application crash even in case fatal error. Application should gracefully close failing module, write to log or display message and continue. I mean how fatal can it be? Do you own the software? If not, this thread is weird. Sonar products have always worked well for me since 2003...

mike_mccue ...64 bit... it really matters 64 POINT fonts matter just at much no one should "convince" anybody to upgrade.. simple as that.. you try the trial and make an informed choice. sonar doesn't do everything I want 100%... but then again neither do the other 2 programs by other rivals I use either.
