Implying they are not truthful is not going to help his case what ever it is.
I didn't claim they are untruthful.
BTW as far as I understand Undertow is not a programmer on the CW staff therefore I don't see how he is so sure of his so called facts as they apply to CW code.
I am sure of nothing, that is why I am asking for clarification. I don't see any vagueness in the specs. And yes I have an IT and programming background. You on the other hand seem easily swayed by the Argument from Authority.

  1. This is getting ridiculous so I'm locking it.
  2. UnderTow - attacking another member like that is unnecessary and generally unfriendly.  Do it again and your banned.  This part of the discussion is not up for negotiation our forum our rules, if you can't play nicely with the community then leave.
  3. To clarify further:
  • Our QA team tests a variety of different devices and we did this for ADM specifically in the SONAR 8 cycle
  • Sure the 5 params are clear you win - like I said before ASIO is not rocket science
  • There is inconsistency in how different devices respond this is a problem - we support lots of devices
  • Sure other hosts do it - I can't speak for how well but if they follow the spec I will guarantee you that not every ASIO device will respond the same.  Maybe if you call their support line with an ADM problem their response is well its the device's problem.  We chose not to take that approach.
