Is there an equivalent for BandLab itself - i.e. website features?

Thanks to Meng and the "Cakewalk by Bandlab" team for keeping Sonar alive. Looking forward to what the future holds for us all. Just downloaded the new release and the software ran seamlessly allowing me to pick up the project i was working on in Sonar Platinum from where I left off. kudos to you all.

Hi. Is there any official news about the future of the absent Cakewalk plugins and instruments in Cakewalk by Bandlab? I'm talking about LP-EQ, LP-MB, Adaptive Limiter, Dimension, Rapture, Z3ta+, and a long etc. Thanks.

Installation went well here. I have to say I very impressed by Bandlab as a company, concept, and community. I've been participating on their platform for the last three weeks and it's awesome. I'm so happy right now... just beside myself with joy that I don't have to relearn FLstudio (was 12 years ago I was using that). When the time comes to get my wallet out I will happily do so... Speaking of I saw that tip jar come and go so fast that now I cannot find it. Awesome work like this deserves to be renumerated...

Well, I'm happy to report another smooth transition here. Took me only 30 minutes to download, install and add the missing plugins. I also notice a slightly faster program startup, as well as plugin popup. My control bar has reset, not sure how to fix that but that's literally the most of my worries and I'm honestly pretty impressed how fast this entire transition has happened from the announcement in Feb to now. @Meng and everyone involved, really just want to say thanks for all of your efforts and sincerity with this. ok, back to work. It looks great! Thanks for this amazing product. I was curious: will there be a downloadable version of this? For local storage? (I find the BandLab assistant a little bare bones at the moment.)

Glad to see someone stepped up..must have been a pretty good bargain. I think that those of us who purchased Platinum Lifetime updates are opted out, as Sonar Platinum is now defunct..and the new free update is probably considered a different product. It is unfair for a company to offer a lifetime update without supporting past product activation versions, so hopefully this service will be offered. Sounds like Band Lab updates require an online activation. My music computers are off line..and I've always enjoyed being able to burn updates to a cd and install them off line. I've been using Cakewalk since version 2, when it was only midi.

Bandlab is not Gibson. It is a different company. It does not owe any Sonar or Cakewalk customers of Gibson, one penny. So we get what we get from Bandlab and it appears that many people are happy with what they have provided. Any complaints about not honoring the lifetime updates are the responsibility of Gibson. The only thing that would change this analysis is if Bandlab bought the obligations of Gibson, and there is nothing on this forum to indicate that such occurred. I hope this helps your understanding of the situation. I have not tried the Bandlab product yet but I am optimistic. lcmt It is unfair for a company to offer a lifetime update without supporting past product activation versions, so hopefully this service will be offered.

Great, why don't you go and throw some change in the Tip Jar for CW continued development ? All that rent you paid in the past went towards building a product BandLab has had to pay good money for.

Hold on there, and go read the sticky posts at the top of the forum! TL/DR; New company bought assets of dead company. But not the past obligations...so anything offered in the future will be for goodwill with existing users! BandLab is off to a good start with the release of Cakewalk by BandLab, don't you think?

Maybe it's a bit off topic here, but I can't imagine where else to post this question: Yes, my friends, on your website I can't find out where actually is your registered principal office. Are you in the States, or in Australia, China, U.K., South Africa, or....??? I am just increasingly curious, because the longer I search, the more I find it is hard to find out. I'd have expected to find that information in your "about us" section in your site, or at "terms of use", since there is not even a note left who is "responsible according to press law". Sorry, but I feel a little need for information. EDIT:Noticing that BandLab has a link to Facebook as well, I posted a message there. The answer came instantly. BandLab is based in Singapore.

Ok, I registered, I downloaded BandLab Assistant. However, it does not recognize me a couple days later and I still have not been able to download the program. Ok, ok...so I am a klutz. What am I doing wrong. I go through the log on procedure and it gives me an emailed logon link. It go and viola, I am recognized. However, I still don't have the program from BandLab. I am a little nervous that it doesn't recognize me already. Geez. Help please.

Are you all sure about this? I'm not normally a security extremist but I've had several oddities trying to get this new version that give me pause. First off Windows popped up the Defender warning on the Assistant installer, it didn't even give me the "run anyway" option, I had to turn Defender off entirely to get it to run. Then I used "sign in with Google" as my option to login and it sill is asking for all my login credentials for my Google account. I'm suddenly wary of giving this Singapore-created app my Google credentials. It should've connected automagically anyway. Just wondering if people do feel confident about this. Not saying Bandlab isn't real (duh) but I'm a little nervous there's a login-jacking thing going on here.

Finally got around to this -- I wish the import settings dialog on the install was Yes/No/Help rather than OK/Cancel/Help but that's not new. It didn't pick up a couple of locations where I'd squirreled away VSTs (OK, like six, but I'm notoriously bad about things like that) , but that's OK, I added them back. You can't run both SPLAT and Cakewalk at the same time to edit those locations, so I used screenshots. (I need to clean that up one day, that's mostly my fault. ) I'm going to need to rename things, as Native Instruments stuff comes in with the same name for the different varieties of the same instrument. My plugin layout file didn't load, and when I do load one it's not reflecting in the main UI, but that's OK, I'll figure that out. It would be nice to be able to set the folders on the install, my C drive is an SSD, which is nice and fast, but I"ve got quite a bit off on another drive. Importing the SPLAT INI file helped with that though (as well as picking up the audio devices, etc.), it properly picked up I have most of the Folder Locations over on the F drive. (it's a weird system)

Windows Defender isn't exactly cutting edge when it comes to Internet security, it gives a lot of false-positives. I installed with a decent Internet security program, and got no warnings what so ever. I'm not to much into this social media thing and signed up with my e-mail, but this thing you mention about your Google account sounds doubtful, I doubt very much BandLab expect you to give away your login credentials for your Google account. Maybe your just asked to login to your account ?

Could it be that the windows firewall or any other firewall software is blocking the Bandlab Assistant from accessing the internet? Might be worth checking.
