Can you please use that in a sentence...

Sure... "Symposium is the word today." Or perhaps, "I think that is great." Or perhaps, "Yes I can."

For some reason I felt the need to click on the link though....

I wonder how many sales they get though.. Say If they post in 20 forums.. They may get 10 people clicking on thier link.. So thats 200 visitors..?

Im guessing maybe 1 sale.. Is it really worth it for them?

Brandon were you at the GC in Detroit last year or when you guys brought out the last version either 5 or 6. If it was you there I think you may remember me I was the one with the large brim brown hat sitting in front of you. That was one of the best presentations I have been to. I hope you can make it back here. Then again you probably will not remember you see so many people.
Any rate keep up the great work you do.

Hey John,

Honestly I can't remember - and that should give you some idea of what my travel/demo schedule can be like. And I'm talking about not remembering whether or not I did the actual event...lol

I did do some events on the SONAR5 tour I think, but I don't think I was on deck for the SONAR6 tour. I will however be returning for some SONAR7 dates, but mine are West Coast.

Anyway thanks again.

OK, Spring it is.

But if you know when I'm going to do it, it wouldn't be kidnapping, now would it? More like a forced vacation.

You should know better than to reply to spam, CJ. The spambot doesn't read your reply or appreciate your wit. However, the spammer does appreciate the fact that you've bumped their spam up to the top of the forum. That's just what they want.

Report the spammer.

Do not reply to them.

RE: Dealing with the Spam; A tactic! 2008/03/06 13:04:01 (permalink)
I hate SPAM!!! I use to run three website-forums and would spend way too much time blocking, banning Spammers, I would have to manually add the Spam IP, Email Address and Username (three step process) adding them to the Ban-List!! Eventually I ended up closing down two of my websites and got the third one upgraded to the best software forum that has the most advance security and anti-spam feature! NO MORE SPAM!! Sure I still see Spammer's trying to register but NO!!! They automatically get the BOOT!!!

Some spammers are very sneaky, underhanded slime bags!!! They could use hijacked IP numbers or a Proxy IP - - - for example: a Proxy Whois search could reveal that a Spammer appears at first to be from the US but in fact is from Asia.

The bulk of the SPAM posted on forums, Blogs and such are from SPAM-BOTS!!! Unfortunately Spam will keep coming back with another random IP, Email and Username.. unless....

There 'may' be third party add-ons available that will control Spam on this forum! Alternatively there may be an upgrade for this forum software (AspPlayground.net) with Anti-Spam Captcha GD2 which is more advanced!. Also... I've seen random maths questions used as part of newbies registration process now used on phpBB forum software. On other sites members have to also input a code before each post.

Nice post Song. Its not as much of a problem here. We just need to be guarded when we come across them. It seems they come in waves until CW gets involved. They stop but some one else will start in a few months. If we the forum membership ignore them I believe it helps. If we respond in anyway it can be a signal that they have made contact. That is all they need to think they are successful.

Thats not funny! LOL

Sorry about that John, I tried to find something more suitable.

Luckily Spam isn't a big problem here like it is on other forums (I've seen very nasty stuff posted by Spammers, some forums get a lot of it daily, very naughty ones if ya' know what I mean). If anyone spots Spam it's best to report it and don't click any Spam Links because that's what the Spammer wants most.... 'attention'. . . I remember someone telling me he actually clicked on a Spam posted Link which led him to a blank page that appeared to load very slowly when in fact was downloading a virus on his PC. Yes! It infected his computer with a nasty virus. . . Just thought I let you and everyone be aware of that.

I wished the gov in all countries had an international agreement to wipe out Spam!!! All browsers should include an option for a 'Spam Auto-Reporting Log' to a worldwide database that catches the Spammers regardless if they hide behind a Proxy IP. The penalty for Spammers should be: 15 to 25 years jail term + heavy fines.

I take it you haven't read the whole thread. I don't blame you either. But we touched on that some pages back. It is still good to reemphasize the hazards of dealing with those people.

Also, I was joking about your picture post joke. Very funny in a scary way.

Who knows the Earth could be in violation of some intergalactic FCC rules. The penalty being species elimination.

BTW your forum experience is very valuable for us, thanks.
