<blushing>  Thanks Beep ... prodigal son and all that stuff.  Life got in the way a bit in some of the intervening time.  Then I got sidetracked with other tools for a couple of years, missing the first 2 X versions.  I'm getting over my initial frustrations and just trying to see what can be done to improve info flow ... both directions. 
 
I gotta say, the UI is leaps and bounds better that it was pre-X and now that I have my head halfway around using the multidock on a second display I'm getting really excited about where Sonar has ended up.  If we can manage to suffer thru some tidying up as the new model unfolds, we'll end up in a great place.  We have to.  Otherwise I'll have wasted a bunch of time and money, and I would NEVER do that!!  - lol

Yeah, I was surprised to see my account still active.  There are forums out there that wipe them after x time inactive.
 
We're here now.   The other DAW I spent the most time with has a lot of inconsistency in how menus are structured, terminology and features.  It's like there isn't really a Grand Vision for where it will be 1, 3 and 5 years down the road.  Don't get me wrong, I keep it up to date and still use it for QND stuff.  It has a ton of really great features.  Hopefully we can get some of them (or variations) into the Sonar pipeline.
 
X3 grabbed me when I decided to check back and see how things are going.  I love the new interface (some color customization capability would be nice), which is a big problem for me with my other DAW.  Having the infrastructure in place for themes is very cool, but I never found one I could stand until very recently.  To me there should have been more attention paid to providing a solid theme out of the box instead of making the default so hideous the first thing you have to do is search for an alternative.
 
The software business is it's own kind of thankless hell! 
 
I've thought about it and decided to commit 100%, realizing there is give/take involved.  I have very high expectations for the crew at The Pastry Shoppe, but I don't expect to them to be able to read minds.  Clear, concise communication is the key, IMO.  With that in mind, my commitment includes giving all of the help and constructive feedback I can - until they delete my account and start sending my emails to their SPAM folders.
