Wow...Thanks Craig you're awesome but they didn't show up in DP for me. I checked the folders in both places and the files are there, hit F5 and nada. I did notice that these samples are .wav and the others are .sfz. I clicked around for another way to reload the program list but came up empty. I'm using X3 64 bit. update: I can load the programs from the Program handling->Load Program menu and browse to them but they don't show up in the program browser drop down menu (top left). Rocky

Well, the response has been most gratifying! Thank you!! I'm glad you're digging the sounds, and also, thank you for recognizing that a lot of work went into making this instrument. I must admit the first time I played the EB, my first reaction after "hey, this is lighter than I expected" was "these sounds were born to be sampled." The blog post I'll be doing next month describes the techniques used to create the instrument, which you can hopefully apply to your own sampling projects. I also have some breaking news - I talked to Gibson's Custom Shop, and they'll let me borrow some of their $$$ re-issues for sampling. I doubt I'll use these for the "sample one note at a time" thing, but rather, doing loops of power chord phrases and such. Sure is handy having all of Gibson as a playground

For those who may be having issues getting DimPro to see Craig's presets here are a few tips that helped me anyway. (Win Xp/32 Bit) The Programs folder is where you would expect it to be. C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs This is where I put Craig's new program files but Dim did not see them. However I found another set of program files here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs. Not sure why the duplicate set of programs but when I put Craig's program files in there all worked a treat. Thanks Craig very much too for the programs. The Harpsicord sound is quite sweet as well. There seems to be only one place for the sound fonts and the wave files so as long as you have got those in there you should be good to go. In my case I have actually moved all those to another drive but once you let DimPro know where that is all is well.

I had TH2 open the whole time, with everything bypassed but set to tuner mode. It was easy to touch up notes as needed.

Anderton ...I'm seriously thinking of buying the new SG Standard bass or the 4-string EB.
My advice; Make sure you play one first. The recent build SG bass I have, that came from the Gibson factory, is neck heavy and it can be distracting to play because the heads is always dropping when you forget how out of balance it is. It is a shame because the pickups on the SG basses are wonderful and you can blend the neck and bridge into some really unique tones. An other thing; If you do get one of the SG basses, ask the guys to put the bridge in the right place because it is darn near impossible to get the intonation set up properly with the stock location of the bridge. That is why all the photos of SG basses show that the saddle for the low E string is pulled as far back as it will go. You can't move it back far enough but it is what it is. It is a bummer. I wrote to Gibson and politely asked for their advice regarding what gauge string or string set would work perfectly on the SG bass so that I could set up a properly intonated instrument and Gibson replied that the recommendation for the SG bass is the Epiphone Bass 4 .045/.105 set which sadly can not be set up in proper intonation on the SG bass. I currently use Rotosound 77 short scale strings and have to cut the end wraps to get it to work and every time I pick up that bass I think "WTF were they thinking". They've been making a bass like this for nearly 40 years. It seems like someone at the company could work some magic and figure out what set of strings would work perfect with some precise bridge location and then make it all happen. I've been thinking about searching out some micro light tuner hardware, and, or drilling a new hole for the neck strap to solve the neck plummet issue but I dislike the idea of modding an other wise stock Made in U.S.A. instrument. I had purchased the SG bass for my wife but now I just use it as a unique voice in the studio. I bought my wife an Ibanez that seems remarkably playable and was easy to set up properly so that she could enjoy playing. I'm gonna keep my eye on the EB5 and hope to give one a try. I don't have much interest in the fifth string but I like the body shape and the natural wood grain finish a lot. best regards, mike edit some spelling and grammar

Mike, I appreciate the detailed comments and have passed them along to Gibson USA to see if any of your points were addressed in the 2014 models. BTW if you get to try an EB at a music store I'd be interested to see what you think about the balance...I find it quite comfortable to play. I'm going through each 2014 guitar/bass one at a time; the Les Paul Melody Maker is next, but I'll get to an evaluation of the SG bass at some point.
