Will someone clarify, please! I use Superior. I do not have EZ at all and probably will not get EZ2. I do have a good number of the EZXs in my Superior library. I gather that the updated EZX audio librarys listed in my account are not going to benefit me to update. What about the updated midi librarys? Is there any point in installing those?

I'm thinking the "update" to the midi libraries makes them more "searchable" for EZD2. Mod did say an update to SD2 is on its way so that SD2 could use the new EZD2 kits. I think that's what he said. My guess is SD3? (or maybe the "player") will incorporate expanded search functions not unlike EZD2. T

No SD3 on the way, just an update as reported on the last video blog which is available on YouTube.

There have been normal updates to EZXs and midi libraries as a normal course of events over the past years. I would think that any EZX update available for you to download would be OK for the Superior drummer users. Worse case, I would think, is that you could lose some functionality until Superior Drummer 2 is updated. That said, I don't think Toontrack would have anything available for download that is going to cause them extra expense in customer support.

So does the "update" include advanced search functionality? Or are you sworn to secrecy? Of, course why would they do that (advanced search), until the "buzz" on EZD2 subsides. Surely EZD2 was developed at substantial cost... FOLLOW THE UPGRADE PATH CHILDREN; DA HAS SPOKEN! (today that's DeeringAmps, not DumbA$$, like it was the last couple of days) T

Rain Up and running - first thing, I can't seem to locate the option to select kits. I can select mixer presets which will load the appropriate kit, but I can't seem to find the menu which allows you to pick, say either the Vistalite or the 60's Ludwig... The manual is of no help thus far - I certainly hope there's something I'm overseeing. I don't care for mixer presets, but some of the kits I own like The Classic offered 4 different kits, and I'd like to be able to easily pick say, the Yamaha or the Craviotto.
This hadn't occurred to me last night when I played with EZdrummer2 for the first time. It would be a big deal for me, too. When Mod Bod didn't answer this query I panicked that maybe it couldn't be done. Then I remembered something I saw in one of the webinars. Open the kit you want, click on the arrow on a drum, and choose the "Kit" drop down menu. You can then load any of the default kits. HTH Love it so far.
For the sake of clarification to the forum members, please don't interpret my lack of response to a question as a yes or a no. During the day, I'm tending my plastics empire and at night I sometimes have sessions. So when I get a chance to log on, I scan the forum but I might miss someone's question from time to time. I also reserve the right to not reply to a question if it's something that someone can get an answer easily from a video or program documentation. I do that instead of posting RTFM. If it's apparent that you can't find the answer through your efforts, I'll usually show some mercy and post.

They are pretty "Johnny on the Spot" Clint. The delay is due to Toontrack Serial#'s having to be "manually" applied for. You'll get it pretty quick...

Loving it here, too, except all the routing in my projects are now messed up. Soft synths are routed to EZdrummer, EZdrummer's routing is messed up, so when I open a project there is silence from the VSTi s.

Just now got it installed and ALL the ToonTrack updates finished. Have only used it in stand alone but so far I am impressed and excited about spending some time with it. At first, I wasn't even going to bother upgrading due to the other drum vsti's I have and use frequently but this is worth the price just for the song construction features alone. JRR did a Great job on the price and getting the license to me same day.
Purrrfect Audio DAW here. Wow!...

Up and running, but can't figure out how to add something to their presets. Like adding a crash at the end of a section or bar. Also, can't figure out how to drag and drop a drum part to my Sonar 8.5. I wish there was more documentation, both with Sonar and EZDrummer.

I don't think there is a way to gracefully add a crash at the end of a bar within EZD2. You could drag the groove down to the Composer Track and then split it where you want the crash, the use the Play style editor to add a crash to the beginning of that short groove you just created. After that you could select the two groove segments and then merge them back into one groove. Or drag the groove into the Composer Track and record enable it and record a cymbal crash where you want it. Me, I'd probably create a short midi groove with nothing but a cymbal crash and save it in my favorites folder and drag and drop it into my project whenever I needed it.

I do have one question.... in that when I click on the menu tab in the upper right...then scroll down to "sound libraries"... all the options come up, but the "version number" is greyed out, like I'm supposed to be able to select the library from there too. I see I can select the different libraries (kits) from the big orange tab just immediately to the left of the menu tab... So... I guess it just is to show the version number of the library...that's its' purpose for being there?

I had the EZ1.dll in a folder I named EZ Drummer. I removed it and replaced it with the EZ2.dll and all seems fine now. Should I delete EZ drummer solo and the EZ1.dll? I moved both to my desktop until someone (Mod Bod) says it's ok to delete both.

Same here. I just loaded EZD2 and set all tracks to that. But I really thought that EZD2 would over write the old EZd and be placed in it's place in old projects when I open them now.

I will say.... nothing lost, but my first instance of an existing project that had both Superior and EZD, after BOTH Toontrack items were all updated and the midi packs, etc.. I lost playback on ALL the other VSTi in that project. I was able to just create another VSTi instrument track, copy the MIDI over and set the VSTi up like the one not playing.... and back to square one. IF I would have had a pile of sessions like this, this might be trouble, but it was my first X3, experiment session, with a pile of stuff, but NOT a serious session. I guess all my old projects which were actually in 7PE might do the same, but they're history at this point anyway. Possibly a good reason not to upgrade mid-project?? Other than the Superior NY kits... I'm finding EXD2 to really be something good. Makes me hesitate buying SDX NYvol3...and a bunch of other expansions. EZD2 really lets you dial in more than you'd initially think.

I suspect you're one of those folks who manually moved their EZdrummer.dll file at some time or another. If you don't do Electronic drumming or want to use Superior drummer in TT Solo then you can uninstall it (not delete it, mind you.) You can also delete your original EZdrummer.dll file as well. You won't be able to uninstall that one, of course.

Yeah, I can't figure out what the routing conflict is. I'm not having similar issues in Studio One and I have multi-out EZdrummer tracks and other soft synths in those projects. EZdrummer and the other synths are playing nicely with each other.
