I don't expect you to care about my opinion of you. In truth, I don't really have one; I don't know you.

The thing is, the point stands. Whining in the forum doesn't get bugs fixed. You know this.

Of course most of us know that.  But YOU miss the point.  And I'm not wasting any more time on this anyway.

No really, go on, what point am I missing? You agree that complaining in the forum is ineffective, Yet you you continue to do it. Why? This doesn't seem, to me, to be an unreasonable question.

I'm done playin' in the dirt with you John.   Go wind up someone else.

You do understand this looks terribly like you don't have a good answer for the question?

And you know, claiming to not have the time to answer a question, but somehow finding the time to keep refusing to answer it looks a bit... well, I dunno, evasive, I suppose.

Since you're so pressed for time, why not claw some of it back by, next time you feel like regaling us with the fascinating tale of how you now use other DAWs than Sonar, reflect that you're too busy, and nobody's interested anyway. Then everyone saves time. It's a real win-win.

Maybe the new users leave because the people here making noise and answering questions are not nearly as helpful or friendly as they think they are?

Pretty solid example of that going on right now in the thread from the guy asking about making mash-ups. Load of ignorant smart-asses taking the mickey out of the very idea, much smaller number of people trying to help the guy out. It's cringe-making stuff.

Yup...I haven't really stressed Studio One Pro like I have on occasion Sonar, but so far it has never even hiccuped.  And I can do anything while the transport is playing back with no worrys...something I've simply quit trying in Sonar.

That is what I wanted from X1 - true under the hood improvements, or actual (not perceived) improvements to workflow that bring me value. The GUI probably did need modernizing, but I felt the brush strokes were too broad and much more emphasis was put on appearance not function.

Next version, I sincerely hope Cakewalk puts emphasis on only these areas:

1.) Stability and smoothness of the engine (audio and graphics draws) - this includes truly gapless playback and operation. Heck it should include varispeed too, since I figure that goes hand in hand with a better audio engine.
2.) Fix all these bugs that hang around for multiple point releases (eg left from S7, 8, etc.)
3.) Carefully restore the ability to customize all menus, colors, toolbars, track headers.
4.) MUCH better testing before release.

I could really care less about any new "Pro" this or that feature or plugin. Lets just take what we have now, and clean it up once and for all so that it works really, really well. THEN and ONLY THEN, lets start adding/changing again. If X2 cannot get Sonar back to right, I will be left falling behind on the unsupported 8.5.3, and will probably be forced to use it until it can;t keep up anymore or abandon ship to brand X. I have also been a longtime user of many years, and I hope Cake understands how much loyalty and money I/we have given them over the years and responds to some of this in X2.

I'm out before the forum police show up to bash.

EDIT: I'm too late! I see that the regulars have shown to get their daily power struggle dosage. How did the lyrics to that song go... "Everything is about Control..." Some things/people will never change.

Must be a John thing. This endless need to tell others what they should and shouldn't say. And you John are the worst of all with your constant blessings of approval or denunciations of various posts. Do you think yourself so important that you are in some way entitled to grade others posts as if we had to conform to your standard.

By the way guys, I see this awesome green bar whenever anyone named John- anything posts. The block feature works great (except when people get quoted). Just sayin...

I dunno, maybe keep replying about how your not going to reply? Keep posting repeatedly in argumentative threads about how you stay out of argumentative threads?

Come on man, you can't seem to tear yourself away. Since you're here, why not answer my question? You've plainly got the time on your hands.

It's impossible, tell the sun to leave the sky, it's just impossible
It's impossible, ask a baby not to cry, it's just impossible
Can I hold you closer to me and not feel you goin' through me?
Split the second that I never think of you? Oh, how impossible
Can the ocean keep from rushin' to the shore? It's just impossible
If I had you, could I ever want for more? It's just impossible
And tomorrow, shouldya ask me for the world, somehow I'd get it
I would sell my very soul and not regret it
For to live without your love--It's just impossible
Can the ocean keep from rushin' to the shore? It's just impossible
If I had you, could I ever want for more? It's just impossible
And tomorrow, shouldya ask me for the world, somehow I'd get it
I would sell my very soul and not regret it
For to live without your love--It's just impossible
Impossible, immmmmm-impossible

Oh yorolpal, you have so beautiful music and entertaining lyrics. You are such a dear asset to these forums, in my opinion.

God bless you, ol pal. :)

If you are talking about me and saying I am "in the mud" I think you need to really reread what I actually wrote. It was an attempt to end the endless bickering. I tried to use humor with John T who by the way seemed to get the point. Then Mike uses my post to attack John T. That called for a leveling of the field. Thats why I posted the one addressed to him.

I did not call anyone anything nor did I address any issue in the thread. All I did was try to gently stop the contentiousness that was becoming the only thing being discussed.

Then you insult me and have been insulting to John T.  And only because he disagrees with the constant bashing of anything related to X1 by you and Mike and others.

I agree with John T. I think you and others dismiss anyone that disagrees with you. You try to belittle them and marginalize them in anyway you can. It doesn't matter the means you use to you so long as you degrade any poster that dares to disagree with you. You have your group that backs you up. But the facts are here to be read by anyone that really wants to understand who is being uncivil and disagreeable. Who are the ones that attack people simply for voicing an opinion.

Is it that you are incapable of seeing the others point of view? That you can never find anything worthwhile in what the other says?. That your point will prevail no matter who is hurt in its ascendency? No matter what it costs? Can people be so megalomaniacs that they when someone sees things differently go on the attack instinctively? Or is it simply that doing the above somehow makes you feel good? Please block me Billy.

It is time for the personal attacks and bitter words to end.

Best
John

Sorry guys, but this sort of back and forth bickering is not what this forum is for. Thread locked.
