Well, FBB, I gather that there's a third team within Cakewalk, tasked with Thinking Of Things That Bub Will Dislike. So I imagine upgrades at gunpoint are in the plan somewhere, yes.

Mike, it would be good if you could just hold back on the eagerness to gripe and actually bother to read what you're saying is "exactly" what happened before. Two year release cycle? When did that happen before? Surely we can at least achieve some kind of continuity of conversation here. We're not writing a William Burroughs novel.

I have a question. Do you think that the next paid update (X1e,f,g or x2 or whatever it's called) will be compulsory as well?

Geeesh.

Would the upgrade include the arrival of a couple of fedora'ed gentlemen with violin cases and sunglasses?

No, the way they're going to do it is, you'll be walking around your local music store, maybe thinking of buying some guitar strings, and a couple of guys in black suits and shades with bluetooth earpieces in will leap out of nowhere and taser you unconscious. Then you'll wake up in a dark room wearing an orange jumpsuit, with the X2 license agreement and a pen on a table in front of you. Signing is of course totally optional. You don't have to sign. You can totally turn down the offer.

Two years from now, the only person in the world not using Sonar will be Jack Bauer.

But Jack is now Martin Bohm - the softer, more gentle, more likely the savior of lost children than the USA these days.  He might just sign the agreement - especially if the numbers his son picks tell him to.

Bohm uses Fruity Loops.

I don't get the direction things are going. The next upgrade will be interesting. There may be so many users at different levels with different components with different bugs and requirements that it might be quite hard to see how and in what direction progress has been made. I restate my confusion with the direction cakewalk has taken with the pc concept.

I for one simply don't like it.

Rain Recording Nimbus. Sandybridge 2600k, 16gb Ram. Quadro FX 580, Roland Quad Capture. Avid Artist Mix and Transport. Loads of other cool stuff.
