I have to admit... the new forum software sucks. Too many "unexpected errors", it doesn't show which posts you've answered, too much wasted space, the colors are lousy, the smilies are the same crappy ones we've had for decades. Total crap. I gave it a chance and it has failed. I don't know why they stuck with the same software because the search feature stinks. If I want to search the Sonar forum, I go to Google and it works better than this lame piece of junk software. I tried to give it a chance, but now I've lost patience with it. If I worked for Cakewalk I'd be all over the vendor that sold them this product and tell them fix it or else. (I can't even post this because of unexpected errors... they want me to try again later... Lovely.

What the hell is this 'Unexpected error' popup anyway? I tried four times to post this morning to help someone re. strings and had to give up. The whole basis of the forum has been wrecked. No apologies from CW, just the usual arrogant stony silence we've come to expect from them. I really don't see the point of visiting here anymore.

I tried logging into the forum most of the day yesterday on my Iphone. No luck. I couldn't see all of the login screen to fill in the info. I'm stuck having to login at home on my desktop...Not good since i do most of my forum browsing at work.

Hi Guys, Arrogant stony silence? I've responded directly on the first page of this thread that we're still working out some performance kinks. The "unexpected errors" get logged and require investigating. We ARE contacting the vendor to work out these things. The spammers appear to be real human beings. I often read "just ban their domain or IP". We do ban their IPs, they're using proxies to get around it. We can't ban their domain, nobody with a gmail address or yahoo address etc. would ever be able to sign up. We're still looking into alternatives but it's no different from you signing up and posting about SONAR. If you can't log in on the iPhone, PLEASE try the mobile theme. This is exactly what it is for. I have a very basic android phone from Republic Wireless that is nothing special, and logging in with the desktop theme is very difficult because the popup logins float away from you. The mobile theme was optimized for phones for this reason. There is also a static log in page without a pop up panel to log in: http://forum.cakewalk.com/login Guys, I welcome the feedback but please understand myself and others are continuing to read this and other similar threads. We just launched this a week ago and have already fixed a number of issues we saw reported and logged in the error logging. We're committed to still working on it, we didn't just publish it and then walk away.

Hi Ryan, It seems to me that running a forum on today's internet has to be as adversarial an experience as I can imagine. It seems like they are under constant, sustained attack. It's obvious to me that you are working very hard at keeping the forum running. I mean that sincerely and want to offer some appreciation for how hard the task must be. Thanks for keeping it running! all the best, mike

Amazing how imapatient some people can be about something that is costing them nothing ! FWIW there are some issues with the new format, but overall I think it is an improvement on the previous version. One thing I have noticed and mentioned elsewhere re spam is that I can report many regular posts as being spam, but not the genuine spam ones ??? The option doesn't appear on those for me.

Not sure if this is how it's supposed to work but I love the fact that I logged in once on iPhone, the day forum software was updated, and have not had to log back in since. Very convenient.

Kalle Rantaaho Ctrl + - will shrink the view, but it doesn't change the proportions.
Hey Kalle, thanks for the 'little' hint! Some of us 'older' folk like the bigger font. But then again, not everybody will be happy methinks..... Cake, your doing great! p.s. ctrl - goes the other direction - reduces the font size...at least for me using IE9
