You are crafty Melodyne -.-

Just got an e-mail offering a half price upgrade to Melodyne Editor on account of getting it with Sonar, limited time deal, of course.

On the one hand it is as much as the upgrade to X3 was and I play mostly with sampled content... On the other hand the Direct Note Access things fascinates me and I want ot have it.

I think they are going to win out here. This month will be expensive :).

According to the e-mail, it is valid until the 16th, so presumably if you want the deal you need to act soon. Not to say they won't make another offer later, but this current one seems to be rather short.

For what it's worth.....I paid $283 for Editor about a year ago. I don't regret it at all. I also have Addictive Drums, I paid $149 on a deal that came with 2 free AD Paks in December of 2011. I still haven't pulled the trigger on X3 but I will in the near future.

I've tried editor and thought it was an amazing piece of software. This is sooooo tempting and I'm sooooo weak willed when it comes to these things lol. Could well be X3 evening for me. Anything after that, I will blame on the wine :-)

IMO Editor is absolutely worth a $150 upgrade.  That's the same amount I paid last year (also on sale) and I haven't regretted it one bit.   Or byte.

And I have to agree with Ted - the polyphonic editing is fascinating.   Feed it a relatively clean recording and have a blast.

This is a pretty amazing deal. If you are interested in the polyphonic editing and MIDI extraction at all this is a no brainer.

The ARA integration is superb and makes the X3 upgrade worthwhile in itself. I already have Melodyne Editor and use it extensively.

I am interested just on account of the fact that it should be impossible. That is what fascinates me about Melodyne is that they've made it do something that given all I know about audio should be impossible. That is just really, really cool right there. I doubt I'll make really any use of it, since I don't do recording and don't plan to, but I want to toy with it. $150 is a lot for a toy, but then it'd hardly be the first $150 toy I've bought :D.

The combined price for X3 and editor is a total no brainer. This is software deal of the century I reckon.

I got the email too and bought editor.
You'll probably have to register the Melodyne Essentential that comes with SONAR X3 first, in order to get the email.
So register your copy first.

I have not seen this e-mail, but I would like to.Is there a link to Melodyne's site that you can post?

I assume they simply need various bits of info regarding my purchase of X3 Producer (serial, reg#, etc...). Or is the offer more specific/limited than that?

I'm going to have to login to my account and make sure I didn't check some box preventing Cake from sharing this info with their partners.

If there's a link, please post it. Thanks, Gregg

I didn't see a link on the site, just a (I assume) personalised link in the email....sorry... Their support folks seem very much on the ball though, so am sure that if you drop them a line they'll sort you out in no time.

I also had editor v 1.1 so the upgrade to 2 was only $49..I think if your going in cold you have to set up an account at Melodyne or the purchase process guides you through setting one up

I have an essentials license from Studio One V2 so I have not installed or registered my Sonar license. Should I do it now to get the Melodyne upgrade price? I'd gladly pay $150 for a full version.

I would. I presume that's how they know to contact you. I didn't ask them or anything, and the e-mail came form them, not Cakewalk. So presumably they know what serials are issued to Cakewalk. You register one, they e-mail you to offer you a deal.

I decided to go for it. Just too neat a toy to turn down.
