The Fairfax is very nice and it's the one I'll upgrade with...if that is how it works.

The demo seems to have lost a lot of it's functions after todays latest rounds of updates. Have you guys noticed this?

Try stand alone mode. Now, in the project I was trying these with, I can't seem to use AD1 with AD2 and my EZ map is gone from AD1. weirdness all around.

The only thing I've done was update EZD and the XLN installer. hmmm.

AD1 is on track 6. AD2 is on track 7. AD1 is playing through track 7, but using the midi from 6. AD2 is doing nothing. The midi on 7 (from AD2) is doing nothing. Something happened with the updates in AD is all I can think of. I'll delete both and re-do them entirely and see what happens. Deleting them, and replacing them works. Now to try and save the midi I made in AD2 originally...This isn't important. Just trying to learn something for later when it may be important.

Deleting the AD1 and AD2 tracks and starting over worked. I guess I'll never know if it was the EZ2 update or the Xln update that caused the problems, but everything is good now.

I'm definitely liking it so far. The UI somehow "feels" better and I like the way it's laid out. Oh, and the Fairfax kit is, as they say, phat.

Clint, I had a new update to the XLN Installer this morning...and everything is still ok... So I'm venturing to say it might somehow be related to EZ2 installation...but can't say that for sure...but I haven't had any issues...

Here is direct word from XLN about how the upgrade process works. An important difference in the way products will be sold for AD2 is that you can buy any ADPak and use with the engine - you don't need the "starter kit / full version" like you did with AD1. The upgrade model will look like this: - for $79 _all_ content you have currently for AD1 will be upgraded - so if you buy extra content for AD1 and decide to upgrade, this won't cost you any extra. - if you decide you don't want to upgrade, but buy an ADPak for AD2, you will only have that available in AD2, but at any point you can still upgrade your AD1 content for $79.

So, lets say I don't upgrade to AD2 and stay with the current AD1, but buy a new ADPak (Funky kit) for $79 (which uses the AD2 engine).......when I load an instance of AD1 in Sonar and pull up the Funky kit, how would it know to switch engines? Of note, CCLarry was right about the ADPak's having their own engine (we had a private convo regarding this).

Seems to me that it won't be able to switch engines. You will need to run your AD2 new Paks(s) with the included AD2 engine and your old ones on the original AD1. Rocky
