Sorry Dub, I couldn't get back to you till now. If you have yellow, open that arrow and you will see what is available =more yellow dots, and what you've already got, will be Green or skipped =red.

It should all be there, regardless when it got added (which update), unless it was a timed thing that expired and I'm not sure what that was, but it should be in a thread here, somewhere.

I use a dual monitor set up with the console undocked and on it's own screen. In X3 most modules behaved in the multidock. So far none of the synth or FX modules I have loaded will dock. What am I missing?
Additionally, my AAS Ultra Analog synths will not load in this version. The worked fine in X3 and all previous versions.
Thank you to anyone who can help.

To dock plug-ins, hold the CTRL key while dragging the plug-in over the docking hotspot. General use questions should be posted as a new thread in this forum rather than appending to this thread.

I don't think the Gold Top programs made it to the installer. At least what I thought were the programs are not the Gold Top Programs. Not sure what the program names are. Edit: I found the DPro programs and suspect the location they installed in was due a non-standard installation.

Also the Mutlisamples and sfz do not look like they are in the right place. The GTN*.sfz files are in the top level of the Mutlisamples folder with the GOLDTOPNECK at the same level.

Edit: I found the missing DPro programs and it may be unique to my installation which is non-standard.

Scook ( or others ) ... did you find a solution to the missing gold top issue. I have the same problem ( they don't show when I hit F5 in Dim Pro ) and the files are located as you described in this post.

Im in same boat Marcus Curtis, i usually use WAV (microsoft), it just seems to usually work better for me. Im getting same exact problem except the error is being shown to me on all WAV formats except WAVE at the top which was mentioned earlier. so no WAV microsoft or WAVEX or Soundcloud WAV is working for. I did just manage to have a WAVE at the top work. My other file types seem to work as well.

This should affect everyone. Noel provided a manual fix http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3199891. The next update should address this problem.

Would it be possible to include whatever English codename du-jour in the About Box? I can only currently see a Version number and don't really want another mapping to sort through. If the About Box is used to track versions, then complete version numbers should be published with releases.

It's a release name but the official version is numbered to apply the logical numerical increment from one version to the next
Both the file name and the CCC reflect what the full version is and the eZine which is part of every release also reflects the name of the release and the version number. The eZine is mandatory reading if you want to know what is in the release and if there are any special installation instructions.

I opened Command Center but show nothing as far as Cambridge updates, et al. I paid the lump sum annual upgrade price last month, so it's good to go.

Also, when I do a search for 'eZine,' I just get this page.: http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Whats-New?utm_source=bronto&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Image+-+Cambridge&utm_content=New+SONAR+Explained+Video+Tutorial+%7C+SONAR+%22Cambridge%22+Release+Available&utm_campaign=Mar+25+2015+-+New+SONAR&_bta_tid=3.TPY.CBl40w.CCCp.6M3C..AybjtA.b..l.A_tC.a.VSchJg.VSciCg.Ej1-gA&_bta_c=8fcqe1sdnsklfvzajxjf5ss56y824

eZine said to DL the Boz, Anderton, and Sonar Platinum. However, none of these had orange dots (indicating an update was available). But I D/L'd them anyway, except for the Sonar; it only had a 'Launch' button.

I did check and see that I now have that virtual MIDI controller. My version is 21.2.00 Build 21 - x64. Am I good to go?

Is it possible to still get the Braintree version update?  I downloaded the Cambridge release, but missed downloading the Braintree version, so am still running the original release from January.  I'd like to update from that, but would prefer Braintree for now, based on a couple of the known bugs in Cambridge.  Any way to do this?

I don't know, I guess there's nothing to roll back to. But what are the bugs in Cambridge that concern you so much? If it's just the control bar, I'd bet money that will be fixed by the end of the month anyway.

Files written to the wrong folders all over my hard drive is a huge no no sorry. It's already been discussed as you know. We need a way to avoid regression bugs in future (already discussed as you know in another thread). It is doable providing we are given another option.

Whew! That's a bit over the edge...

I haven't checked your link but the only related info I know of is that regarding the Les Paul Goldtop... And it is not so drastic... It's one small set of files that are in the parent folder instead of their dedicated folder... Not much of a mess... Can easily be fixed manually (I believe scook already did this on his machine) and doesn't affect any operative situations... I expect it will be fixed soon as well and in the meantime, it's really not hurting anything...

Are there other such situations I don't know about?

Yes there were other issues that were discussed in detail on another thread. I don't want to hijack this one or go through a repeat conversation. I don't think asking for files to be written in the right place is OTT nor is it a minor issue. The last time I remember having these sort of issues was when I was using windows for workgroups. Before people bring up CCC get out of jail free card again this is not a CCC issue.

With the current way Cakewalk rolls out updates you will always have access to the latest installer in your user account for direct download or access via CCC. You will only ever have installers from the time you activate your membership by downloading Sonar and activating it. The same goes for having an upfront membership and skipping a particular months release. While content will be a seperate installer, Sonar will always be the latest available.

Does this mean that to roll back to a previous version, you have to have previously installed that version on your machine?   (so as to then have the previous version's installer locally)

Re: SONAR "Cambridge" Release is Now Available! 2015/04/13 00:02:17 (permalink)
I'd say so considering you only have access to the current download for Sonar at any one time.

I think rollback is possible/with reservation, even if the files are not kept local. Noël assured us that at whatever level you buy in, those files will always be available for access. I think it's complicated though. If I'm on Cambridge and its stable why would i want to roll back to Allston or Braintree. I would find that out at time of installation. The community very quickly finds out whether a release is stable or not. I can't find a logical reason to roll back other than its mine and I want to.

If you buy in now whether it be for the year or month,, the installer is Cambridge not Braintree or Allston. It's clearly a stable version despite a few bugs of inconvenience but no show stoppers.. Once you're in the membership though there's no reason why you can't wait to update on the monthly releases if you want to. Each version update is rolled into the previous ones so there only ever one Sonar and that's the current one.

The version lines have now been blurred and we no longer will have definitive X2, X3 type releases.

There is Sonar Artist, Pro or Plat at whatever time you purchase. In a way I guess that Sonar has become a moving target as far as the precise Sonar executable version you will get.

That should apply to content as well. Eg The Brian Hardgroove loops that came out with Braintree I imagine are not included with any Sonar purchase now at Cambridge time. They will be available for purchase in the Cake Store at some later time we've been told.

Maybe because the Control Bar bug drives you crazy ?  Just an example, but it's for situations just like it that we were told the rollback was to be of use.  Say you skipped a release or two because things were stable, then update and find something wrong, you can only roll back to the last update you did, not the most recent-1.

So it may be a good idea to download every installer even if you don't use it.

Can't say I see any negatives with that... and just store them elsewhere if working from an SSD.

Ditto, well I did have a clean out a year or 2 ago, where I through away stuff I'll never use again, 32bit stuff etc. Just done a hard copy backup (well almost finished) to DVD of the stuff I have installed and use now, 46 DVD's, probably crack 50 by the end, that was a mission, plus I have it all stored on an internal drive on each of my music computers, and copies on 2 external hard drives, plus the original downloads on one of my laptops and external drives I use for the Internet.

has anyone tried a rollback yet? i'm wondering if it's as simple as uninstalling one version and installing another, just as if one had collected the installers and performed the uninstall/install manually

just a sec
