John T Says the man who thinks spelling doesn't matter.
Gee Sorry I can't spell the best... is that all you have? My brain runs to fast to slow down to your level... curse and a blessing... they tried to find out what was wrong with me.. I was hooked up to a brain wave device two time the first time they used hundreds of needles poked into my head all wired up, I was 4, then next time they glued the sensors to my head I was 6. But at the end of the day and all the testing I was certified a genius at 8..... The way I think learn and interpret is well beyond your comprehension. Let’s just say that I understand everything that is important to me in a thousand different ways in a millisecond of time... The sky is clear.... reality is an illusion... Time was created by man to understand and control his environment... Dark matter is a gravitational shifts in dimension that can’t be seen unless you’re inside of it. The closer to the sun you get the slower the perception of time… Man is an animal that on every level is trained to behave and is 100% predictable to its giver behavior…

Besides all the actual bugs in Sonar (read: things not working as intended), you have quite a staggering amount of combinations of hardware/software AND people who may not know what they are doing in terms of computers and software in the Windows environment. One of the smart things about Apple is that they exert control over what is produced from the hardware side, thus greatly reducing one side of the equation ...but Apple users pay premium for it. Which is why when you see people with the cheapest parts on a pc along with drivers that might totally wrench a system, you see more "random" bugs and strange behavior in a Windows environment. But even Apple has bugs with all of their controls! Add to that people not actually knowing what the hell they are doing in a studio making assertions or accusations about how things *should* be, and you get some of these threads on the board. I've worked in IT for years in software houses. Software has never been perfect, and it will never be perfect. I KNOW Cake cares and does their best, but I also KNOW they are a small shop. That isn't to say I haven't been disappointed a few times, but Sonar works for me and I have faith in them.

Did they sell your parents a special "Genius Pack" consisting of badges, hats, certificates, bumper stickers and whatnot, at a hugely inflated price? Because that would have been a stroke of genius.

No...... genius is the guy who came up with bin liners. You buy them, take them home and then immediately put them in the bin. Marketing doesn't get any better than that.

You know, I am often underwhelmed by people who insist that they are geniuses, and that mere mortals such as myself (or, let's just say hypothetically, anyone on this forum) can't possibly comprehend their incredible minds. I have a fairly decent brain, myself, and can keep up in most situations... and I can even think particularly quickly in a handful of specialized contexts like, say, soloing on Giant Steps at a clip, because I've worked on that... but I have always been pretty happy that I don't seem to be a genius, because that quite frankly seems like a lot of trouble and a heavy load to bear. But I've also noticed that most of the truly brilliant people I've known, and I've known a few in my time, people who simply bowl me over with insight and clarity so that I go "oh, yeah, right, that's possible... I wonder what that's like?" - those people are invariably pretty quiet about it. They are NEVER the same people who want to tell anyone within earshot about how they were a child genius and the doctors did all these tests but simply couldn't handle them, didn't know what to do with someone so advanced. That's a funny thing, innit? And for the record, I'm not one to harp on spelling, or unorthodox ways of writing or talking, because I've also known some very sharp folks that just happened to be thinking about very different things during those classes. I happen to appreciate good spelling and grammar, and an elegant turn of phrase even more, but I'll take a rough-edged but lucid insight over a cleverly worded platitude any day of the week. However, when faced with someone holding forth about their unappreciated and misunderstood genius, I am often left thinking, how shall I put this? The lady doth protest too much, methinks...

Every now and then you come up with something that makes me laugh out loud...because it's both funny and true. It was kinda worth having the thread keep going just for that.

So you lie, and then let other people take what you say at face value because you find it inspiring - even though what they say is in response to deceit. Kind of a strange hobby...but realistically, it takes very little effort to scam a bunch of well-meaning and honest people. If you want to impress us with your alleged cleverness, go scam some corrupt politicians or Nigerian princes! That would be much more challenging, and I think we would all find it vastly more inspiring than your attempts at being an agent provocateur in a forum about music software.

C'mon, you're putting us on man, right? I mean a genius would figure out how to use spell-check, right? After all, he wouldn't want people to think he wasn't a genius, would he, as that is so obviously important to him.
