I agree: Tracks 5 is very nice.

I never used the TR4 standalone more than once, but I've been playing around with the TR5 standalone all evening, and I really like it: sounds very good, workflow suits me fine, new metering is great, and I enjoy using it. Performance is fine for me, too. So far, it is stable, loads up quickly and I'm not experiencing any issues with lag, sludgy performance, or whatever.

I can see areas for refinement and adjustment, but for what I do, I think the Tracks 5 standalone is going to be really useful.

As for the new plugs - I think they are excellent, especially One. And the revamping of the GUIs on the older plugins was long overdue and very helpful, especially the changes to the presets dropdown menu. All in all, I'm quite glad I invested in the upgrade. For me it was totally worth it.

One little thing is that when you go to save a project, it opens to the directory that T5 is installed to. I let it install on C:\ but I don't want to save my projects there. So I have to drill to where I want to save every time. WTH? It should remember last place saved.

It needs to remember all the last used directories but doesn't.  Import Audio doesn't remember either.  I think the stand alone is not going to be useful for serious work.  More for that "quick" touch up a file fast-food thing.

Agreed Matthew. As projects get larger and more complicated these seemingly little things will add up to complete frustration/aggravation over time.

And did notice that the Import Audio didn't remember last location either.

Thanks for the ink Bob. Will head over there and contribute.

I have also made sure the project manager and dev team are aware of that thread.

Yes, Peter. Thanks. Glad that info is getting to them.

They have to look at that list and say to themselves "Duh!" With all the other things they were doing they just more than likely overlooked these things we are now pointing out.

Well, as much time as they surely spend eating twinkies, drinking mountain dew and writing code, a few oversights are easy to understand
