I have now found a way to repeatedly craqsh and lockup Sonar X1c... Simple to open a new project... Then with an empty MIDI track selected, I use the Alt-3 to attempt opening the PRV.... Crash/Bang/Boom! More to come... Keni

John T Yep, that's per-project. Intuitively seems like it should be global to me, but easy to add to a template. That setting is per-project. I agree it really should be Global and we intend to make it that way in a future update.

The SONARPDR.exe process still hangs around for several minutes after closing Sonar. FWIW, I've tried loading numerous different projects... and can't reproducer this behavior. Sonarpdr.exe is gone within a second or two here. I suspect one of a couple of things. - MIDI driver - As a test, disable your MIDI ports and see if the Sonarpdr.exe still takes a long time to close?
- Bridged 32Bit plugins - Remove all 32Bit plugins from said project. For that matter, also try loading an audio only project (no virtual instruments) with only native x64 plugins.

It is up and running on my testbed too. As far as I can see the biggest bonus for me is the separate grid resolution for the PRV and track view. I am mainly working with MIDI, so this is a big improvement in functionality. The new interface for the step sequencer is nice too. I will take a look at the new loop construction GUI soon. Loaded a few projects, and everything works smooth. I will stress-test everything tomorrow (it's almost after midnight here). I have a good feeling about this update...

djjhart@aol.com I'm wondering who will be the first to suggest whens X1D come out? I was the first to ask ... like 20 seconds after X1C was announced to be released. My first thread got moved with no reply, and the second time I asked I received no reply. But I can understand. It was kind of rude of me to do that so soon after X1C was announced so I can see why I was ignored. That being said ... it is a legitimate question now that X1C has been released. I just got done downloading it and will test it tonight. So far the things I'm reading, none of the problems I was having have been addressed, but I don't want to officially comment (not that it matters anyway) until I try it for myself. ........... I started the download 15 minutes after it was posted and it just finished at 4PM-Central. I didn't notice the time when I started the download, but I think it's been 4 + hours. 10 ~ 45kbps which is even bad for my crappy 3G connection. But I understand that the server must have been busy. Thanks, Bub

I downloaded and applied X1C. No mods etc.. The browser plugin layout is still having persist problems here though. Exactly what happens in a few steps: Create new project. Go to the browser Select the plugins tab audio fx selected by default (Looks fine, using my layout file) Switch to instruments (Looks fine, using my layout file) Switch back to audio fx again (Looks fine, using my layout file) Switch back once more to instruments (Changes to the default layout) I can replicate this every time.. I can make the audio fx section go back to default if I start on the instruments section and do things in reverse.. Also happens if I switch back and forth a few times with the rewire section and one of the vst/vsti sections. So yeah, definitely still persist problems in X1C

Don't kid yourself, they know exactly what's to come and how far they are willing to go releasing fixes. And Your most likely aggravating someone.. I care about that, about as much as they care that we all paid for something that didn't work the way it was advertised to. I haven't said anything that isn't true, and when I'm wrong at least I man up to it ... But I can understand you want your bugs sorted out. They're everybody's bugs, not just mine. I would be happier to see hot fixs rather than X1D, to have point releases take too long, . Cw was doing good with the hot fixs hope there not done with them. I don't care what they do as long as they get X1 working the way it was advertised to work. Moving along ...................... ........................................ 20 seconds in to installing X1C ... #1: Got a fatal error installing the x64 version and my PC tried to force me to reboot. Got a message saying "Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0xC000142. C:Programs (yadda yadda yadda)\GroovePlayer.dll." I clicked "Retry" and the installation continued, but is it corrupt now? Only way to find out for sure is to do a system restore and start fresh again. #2: Projects take 3 times longer to load now in x86 and x64. Is it related to the crash with the DLL/OCX failure? I don't know. I have to do a system restore now to find out. #3: Sonar hangs for several minutes in memory now when I close it. Not off to a very good start with X1C.

I suspect that you are right. It never ever happens when I use only native x64 plugs and it usually does happen after a project containing x32 plugs crashes on start up. I doubt that it's the midi ports although when the start up crashes do occur the automated fader on my FaderPort starts giggling and won't stop.
