i was running really good without this patch so im holding off before i install it(i did just d.l. it though)my advise to some would be the serious..if at all its beyond fubar.doa clean install.i though i was good before untill i did the reformat/clean install of a new o.s. and new sonar x64.projects load 2x faster.no hangs.no problems..just funny little quirks like once in a while midi fails to load or it hangs up.though that is still far and few between. best wishes to those still having problems, like bud.like alot of others with real legit problems.getting this product to what it was advertised as..thats a great point..its only 9 months later..but on another note..thank you cake for the effort to make right on this. :)

So far so good with X1c also... not that there were no major dramas here in X1b with projects created initially with it. Did note that C seemed to load quicker... don't think it was a bug before though. Here's hoping!

I seem to have hit a couple of things which are different. I seem to be getting dropouts more easily than I did before (but this is on my work machine, so there are other things running, which could explain that - I did get it on my main DAW at home last night though). Also the control bar going grey still persists if I minimize sonar, and come back to it after a few minutes - I've submitted a report for this, though. Cheers James

I'm testing that now. I have just minimized X1. I will wait a bit and see what happens. How long do you have it minimized? Edit; Waited 2 min and the CB came back as it should. No glitch.

It was about 5 minutes with an existing project loaded - I'm just trying it now with a new blank project, and so far its not happening. I guess there are countless possible reasons, plugins etc that could cause it and I suspect a new project will not show the symptoms!

There is a recent thread about the disappearing control bar. Bug submissions have been sent and the Cakewalk folks (from what has been said in the other thread) have verified it. Apparently there wasn't enough time to get it into X1C so hopefully they'll have it sorted out in a quickfix.. BTW: If you are trying to reproduce this bug, make sure the control bar is docked and you have autosave set. I set mine to one minute and after I minimize for a couple minutes it always greys out. Also: You can drag the control bar a bit to get it to redraw. Not a showstopping bug but also not the best bug to encounter around a client :)

@PenguiN42: I have had similar issues with envelopes jumping all over the place during edits and even random selection of nodes when clicking and dragging the lasso past the right screen boundary while trying to select nodes (Which I reported: CWBRN-4265 and was submitted to development in May, according to the email response) That was using X1B 255 (Still yet to update to X1C), I was hoping that the automation envelope issues would be addressed in X1C looking at the image you posted (which I have also seen similar behaviour to, in my projects) they have obviously not

I opened a project before testing, however it was saved as an X1 project before I opened it. I will wait a little longer this time. Also its a pure MIDI project with no soft synths. It outs to my hardware synths. I will also try a pure audio project. Edit; I tried a different project with audio only. Lots of plugins and I have nothing to report. The CB came up as it should. Sorry I can not confirm this issue.

Isn't it funny: many of the little things I had as ongoing problems like the Control bar disappearing and non persistent on/off state of ProChannel don't seem to happen anymore for me. in the meantime there's a bunch of people reporting probs with X1C. We're a funny old lot and SONAR is even funnier. I've had SONAR do all the things that used to cause just these 2 problems to occur and now they aren't. Control Bar doesn't disappear nor does the PC lose it's on/off persistence. Mind you still a long way to go but previously I could never have SONAR on long enough to make a project. Now it's been running a big project full of tracks with fx and VSTi's for hours on a continuous loop. No white screens, no unresponsiveness. I'm actually starting to get confident enough to try using it on a non critical project.

Well in another thread we did find an issue with clicking on the master buss and then going to a track. It wont select nor show in the track/buss inspector. It stays locked to the buss.

Ok, I can confirm that it does seem to be related to the auto save. I opened a new project and did nothing but minimize it - nothing changes. I then added 3 midi notes, and minimized it - after the auto save period (2 minutes in this case) I opened it up again, and the control bar had gone grey. I saved the project, closed sonar down, and then re-opened this same project, and minimized it. The control bar was still there, when opening it up again. I added one more note, minimized it, and after the auto save period, as before the control bar had gone grey. So it has nothing to do with plugins or audio, as there were none in this project ... As said elsewhere, its not exactly a show stopper, but it would be nice to get it fixed. Cheers James

John PenguiN42 At least they kept the feature that lets you make your envelopes travel backwards in time! Honestly I can't wait for the marketing text for X2 -- "New features: Cutting and pasting envelopes no longer creates a corrupted mess!" :P This and several other problems inherited from version 8 and earlier seem to still persist (matrix view dropping midi notes, various display & other issues with complex tempo maps). I don't get it -- are these features just not considered important? I know it didn't mention any of them in the X1C release notes, but a small part of me was hoping some entrepreneurial engineer snuck a few fixes in there without telling anyone ;) (Yes I've problem-reportered all of these. Several times actually). That picture looks an awful like user error to me. A quick edit would fix the sloppy use of the mouse. This particular situation came about when I tried to "Cut" a section with "Delete Hole" selected. This feature doesn't handle automation correctly at all, and is basically useless when you have automation involved. However, this bug isn't new to X1. It's been around since version 8 at least. I just ran across it when going through my standard "bug list" that I try out for each new update.

Anyone here had any issues with synths such as Session Drummer 3 not triggering notes properly? I submitted a problem report to Cakewalk a week or so ago, but just wondering if anyone has had the issue and not seen it since X1c came out....

While I'm at it, here's another thing that's been irking me: I cannot slip-edit the left edge of this clip with the Smart Tool. The fade-in hotspot gets in the way. I either have to switch to the Trim Tool, or move the fade-in out of the way temporarily, then move it back. According to the documentation, this is SUPPOSED to work with the Smart Tool like this: ACTUALLY this documentation is wrong too (ALT+click splits clips) -- what's supposed to happen is this: - Upper corner = adjust fade - Middle edge = crop clip, moving fade along with crop - Lower corner = crop clip and keep fade at the same location in the project. This is how 8 worked, and how the smart/trim tools work when the fade hotspot doesn't get in the way. Someone changed the fade behavior, (I think it may have been in one of the X1 updates) I guess not realizing that people might still want to easily adjust crops on clips with short fades on them. Obviously X1c hasn't remedied this.

I just tried it and the method worked well. But I don't know what you were talking about. I never slipped edited any track ever. By making the track vertically tall you have more mouse space to find the hot spot. When its small it is not all that easy. It can be done while small but its a lot of fiddling for grabbing the end of a clip or track. It works as I suggested.
