Hey Guys, It's Been Great But I'm Moving On

Well I always said I wasn't a Cakewalk employee, and now I'm not a Gibson employee, either. Gibson was the first job I ever had in my life, and it's been a wonderful and extremely educational experience with many truly great people. However looking back, a lot of projects that meant a lot to me have fallen by the wayside while I was there...it's time to get back to writing books, doing workshops, consulting to the industry, and making more music.

Even though I did a lot of initiatives for Cakewalk on my own time, that will no longer be possible because I'll need to spend a while re-establishing connections with former clients and publishers. So I won't have time to do the Tip of the Week, any more books on SONAR, the eZine, 30th Anniversary freebies, forum support, SONAR-specific seminars, etc.

I've really enjoyed interacting with all of you - yes, even the malcontents who think everything sucks...they're part of the world, too. I'll continue to stick around the forum because it feels like a bunch of friends, and of course, I'll continue to use SONAR. I'd also like to thank you for the appreciation you've shown for my efforts. I'm not perfect, but I do strive to be the best person I can be.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Wow!  Although I hate to see you leave, I get it.
You've been such a valuable asset that it'll be hard to go on this forum and NOT see your "tip of the week" or you enlightening someone on the true benefits of using the Sonitus plugins.
I know I don't post a lot lately, but I DO come by often and just read up.
It's has always been refreshing to see your posts.
Will miss you, but will be looking for more of your awesome expertise to pop up.

Craig, I want to thank you for your wonderful contributions over the years to this forum and your wonderful articles. You found things in Sonar I never even dreamed were there.
You tried to help everyone and Gibson and Cakewalk will miss you dearly.
Take care and I wish you the very best in all your future endeavours. By the way, did you make contact with your friend in California?
Kind Regards.

Hey, we'll see you in Harmony Central won't we? Yu've been part of my community since way back in the Electronic Musicain mag days and I might have been someone reading your first contributions back in the 80'S? was it really that long ago?
Anyhow sorry to hear about the Gibson gig. Seems a pattern for them.

I just discovered while trying to find out about my Garrison Guitar about how they bought the factory, screwed up, and closed it down laying a lot of people off. Some sort of attempt to build Gibsons in North America and lower the price.

Hmm...strikes me as a situation that will be
A) fine for Craig, as he's amazing and most of us here will keep tabs of wherever he posts content
B) a loss for us..wealth of knowledge that was always close by in these forums
C) a loss for Cakewalk that may not be measured correctly at this moment..like that "locker room guy" on a great team that puts up good numbers but contributes in ways that can't be calculated by surface level analytics.

Enjoy your new adventures; we'll follow, just let us know where :)
