Why doesn't everybody have this?

(OK, so Amazon has - no kidding - patented the 1-click button. But surely someone clever enough to invent a Stealth Limiter could also design a simplified purchase process.)

Now here's the other extreme. Do you realize how much that friggin 1-Click button costs me every month!!

Do you have to jump through hoops?....Yes.
However, you will get some great products for very little money once you get the process down.

I am new to IK Multimedia with only the vintage compressors which I am having a great time with. I am looking to get more, especially the clipper and limiter next.

So is this the "process"?

1.) Use jam points online to get gear credits up to 1/3 of purchase. Then use gear credits in the Custom Shop to make the purchase?

Or...

2.) Wait for Group Buy?

Thanks for any help :)

The Group Buy is the way to go......you can get a lot and pay less. Most of my IK purchases have been through this method.

Or... double down by getting gear credits by using jam points and then...wait for a group buy. IK also has a sale on gear credits at least once a year and that is a good time to buy for later use. I think I have 120  I bought for a reduced price still in my account just waiting for something I can't say no to.

The purchase thing is so convoluted, it's hard to tell........I keeed....I keeed....

I believe you can use gear credits on GB's and other sales, but not Jampoints or Jampoints WITH gear credits.

If you can buy it in the Custom Shop you can use gear credits on sale or not. And you can use jam points. Unless they say they are not usable on a particular promotion. So, yes. But sometimes no. Maybe. Starting to understand the OP yet?

Don't tell him that, Ed. Many of us have been sucked into the rabbit hole already, but Robby, it's not too late for you!

Seriously, I've been quite happy with most of my IKM purchases. For that matter, I've also been happy with my Waves and Native Instruments purchases, too. I'll likely continue to be a customer for at least two of those. But none are my first choice, for reasons that have nothing to do with product quality.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Yes, but only if the sale includes items that can be bought in the Custom Shop. Gear Credits can only be used in the Custom Shop. Like right now, the new Mastering Console is not a Custom Shop item so you can't use Gear Credits on it. But you can use Jam Points to reduce your price. And it is on a low introductory price.

Re: I finally give up on IK Multimedia 2016/03/23 23:14:54 (permalink)
I just had a great IK Multimedia purchasing experience today.  I decided to finally go for the Mesa Boogie collection. By the time I added in Jam points and some credits they put in my account and some other discounts it seems like I ended up paying less than $70 for it and ended up with a few stomps to boot.  Checkout process was smooth.

I was grateful.  I was thinking I was committing to like $120 going in, and came out well ahead of my expectations.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Or his Bartok. You are right though Mesh. Butt,it's nice to warm your fanny in the glow of his above averageness. Speaking of a cold fanny, we had something like 57 degrees and sunny Tuesday and 9 inches of snow and strong winds Wednesday. You almost have to put on your Sorrel boots and Speedos to cover all the bases. Barely.
