New Spring Mod is now ready and available. This Spring Mod version includes new Console View, Track View, Control Bar and ProChannel. It does NOT include any push buttons and some miscelaneous tweaks other mods do but you can run this mod to replace only listed items with new. There are also several ProChannel skins available to customize Sring Mod further...

Panup - Wow, Spring, that's nice-looking. Good one. Panu, I have a suggestion about Dark Side. I'm an avid fan of the DarkSide skin but there are a couple of things that I think would make it even better: 1. If the "Selected Track Background" in the Track Pane were the same shade of blue as the "Selected Track Background" in the Console View. 2. If the "Read Automation Enabled" button were a different shade of green (or something much less bright) from the "Solo" button Here's a screen shot of the current 1.3 Dark Side to help show what I mean:  I prefer the darker blue of the console view selected track - it would be cool if it - or some darker blue closer to it - were used in the Track Pane view as well, instead if the somewhat warmer mid-blue as shown above. Thanks for doing what you do.

Short answer: Yes! I have not tested it but it should work this way! :-) My own SONAR contains Spring, Lighthouse and darkside elements mixed... -Panu

@Panup - The new Dark Side rocks. Thanks for integrating the RD button fix! Clearly you agree with some of us that having the SOLO and RD buttons so similar in hue is not optimal. On the other hand, clearly we have now reached the edge of the envelope where it is impossible to keep 100% of your user base happy. If you truly believe that Freddie has a good point, then of course i know you will keep the RD-Original patch around for us more aesthetically-aware folks. @Mod - That's a really good point. I wonder if that was contributing to my dislike of the new R button? @Freddie - Just use the 64-bit version of the patch.

@Freddie - Just use the 64-bit version of the patch.
I'm always "pro" for Options... ...anyway...by the way...-----------> "R" button = Read automation are the same as in Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, Samplitude, Pro Tools and now SONAR X1 as default and that is that it should be becuase its universal ICON. "RD"= only this skin and old SONAR 8.5 and SONAR backward... The same goes with recording. numric * = record in any DAW except SONAR? KEY "R" = record? Cakewalk, please keep and follow the universal commands instead. CTRL + D are = Duplicate in any DAW:s except SONAR. In SONAR it is something else and so forth...?

I have not tested it but it should work this way! :-) My own SONAR contains Spring, Lighthouse and darkside elements mixed...

Sorry if this has been asked for the 100th time..... I had the Dark Side mod and when installing Reindeer, I followed the uninstall instructions (renaming) and now have 3 TRSxxxxx.dll files (TRSxxxxx.dll(2) & TRSxxxxxx.dll(3)). (Before I installed any of the mods, I copied and saved the original X1 TRS file in a seperate folder). Do I need to delete any of these TRS files and is it necessary to uninstall a mod before installing another? Thanks again for these mods!!

Deletion & uninstalling is not required. You may keep as many TTSRES*.* files in the program folder as you wish. I have sometimes over 50 different TTSRES90 files! If you like to change from mod to another you may want to place TTSRES90.dll files in sub folders (like Reindeer, Orfeus, Darkside, Spring.. and the original one in Original folder). Then you may choose a mod of the day by copying a dll from sub folder to the X1 program folder. You may install a new mod over old mod. There are no technical limitations. At first I was not sure if patcher accepts other than the original TTSRES90.dll file but it seems to work just perfectly when modding a mod. New mods are designed to append new features; they don't overwrite the whole GUI anymore like my first mods.

Cool! Hey no problem Panup! I like the new arrow">" better then "R" button now anyway! Now its much easier to see what is the READ automation in any view. Mute and Solo in Console view really sticks out now and that's very good... Cakewalk should let you design the GUI instead! The deafult SKIN GREY look ugly as hell compare to DARK SIDE OF SONAR. I like the X1 Square original Faders better though!

Hello panup Why not create a "control panel" app that can be used to installing themes and switching between these? This way you can hide all the details of backing up and swapping TTRES90 files, and allow the user to feel more in control with the various themes you have and the modified elements tailored to various input you've received. Given the amount of effort you have put into creating the themes I'd imagine that this wouldn't be such a tall order. You've been very good about answering questions about installation and so on, but this kind of Control Panel tool would probably save you a lot of time in this regards -- as well as increase adoption and avoid user-issues. I am using one of your themes and it has greatly enhanced my experience. For me it's about being able to clearly see what is going on in a way that catches my attention, rather than simply needing a theme for "moods" and so on. The higher contrast and use of colours has made me way more productive, and for that I thank you for opening up in X1 what many of us took for granted in earlier releases of Sonar.

Themes are converted in near future to Skin Editor's SonarSkin format. Ben is still polishing Skin Editor but it will be a great front end to hide all the technical stuff from user. I could do a control panel app but it would become outdated in few weeks... -Panu
