Actually, listen to these recent, revised melodies of mine which have chords to go along with them.  Hopefully, you can understand the melodies I'm trying to convey.  If not, that's fine.  I know I can understand good, catchy melodies other people have made and presented in the format I have presented them.  So, hopefully, you can understand, too:

All those snippets have the same feel to them, and there's nothing 'dark' or 'dramatic' about the first two.

To me, they sound like incidental music in a cheerful young kids TV show.

Then clearly, you did not get the melodies I was trying to convey.  That's fine.  Also, they're not cheerful tunes (except the motivational one because that one is in the key of C Major).  The 1st two tunes have black keys.  So, they are in a different key which makes them heavy and dark.

No, it doesn't. You really need to learn some music theory. 'Having black keys' in a tune does not mean you're playing in a minor key, which is usually where 'heavy and dark' will be found.

Learn your major and minor scales. It's basic, and you'll never move forward until you do.
