Oooooo, this sounds good. Nott so centered now. Much more open. I 'get' the snare now, sounds good to me. Of course this is only my opinion and I aint no expert but for me the big kick/tom fills sound a little muffled. I would try cutting between 200-800hz or boosting anywhere between 800hz-8k and with the increase in clarity I would imagine that the verb would then be able to come down a bit. On the up, Id be happy to have this as is. Great song....wish it was mine

Nice song! The lyrics on the chorus is very catchy. As for the mix, it is a retro style, but I seem to be getting most of the instrument on the right side except for the guitar solo that finally came on the left channel. The piano sounds a bit muddy, but that could be done intentionally. If that is what you want, then it sound cool too.

guitartrek Excellent song and excellent vocal performance as usual. You've got a great voice and vocal style. I like those background vocals toward the end. I agree with others that this mix is really good. It's a well balanced mix for headphones. Guitartrek, Engage! Thanks :-)

mgh superb Robby. you really do have the most amazing voice for this ballad stuff. only nit i can pick is the reverb on the BV is a bit sibilant-y, maybe needs a tweak on the EQ there? love the solo, though that could stand a little more verb... Sweet :-) Thanks mgh, Yeah I'm sure I changed that 3 times since this :-) I'm kind of like a mad scientist on my mixes?

Whoa, Robby, ya' got another winner here. You are truly the master of the ballad. You just do these so, SO well. Everything was great, but I felt that those little punchy tom fills were very effective when you threw them in. Sorry, buddy, but I'm just out of words here... another super ballad. But where in the heck do you come up with all these images?

Due to working my bollocks off day and night, it looks like i missed the previous five mixes. This track is your loudest and proudest yet. Everything is so clear and well separated. The vocals as usual are goosebump inducing. How you have never been scouted is beyond my comprehension. Love this very much Robby. Mark.

Scottytunes Sounds great! The lead guitar reminds me of the Scorpions. That is one sexy wav form! Scotty! Good ear! I think I was using some Scorpo's preset that I modified a little? :-) Thanks for the listen! I tell you, I was thinking today that this might be my last song post... I have a big oak tree that was felled in my front yard a few weeks back? I threw my back out initially cleaning up debris? Now it's strong again, so today I started splitting wood? A chain saw, a maul, a sledge, and two wedges... I worked at it for about 2 1/2 hours with many breaks, but still? There were several points where I was clutching my chest like Fred Sanford? And yelling "I'm coming Elizabeth! I'm coming!" (and not in the way I enjoy either...) Hopefully I can get through this tree and live to post another day... I call this two logs and a dog? It's two logs from that freaking big oak tree! (split up) When I'm done? I'm going to have "A LOT OF WOOD!" Which brings me to my second point... Ladies?

Great song, plenty of space, loads of soul. For me the shaker stands out a little too much.... but thats just me Thanks for sharing Monkfish01 Ive listened to alot of music since my last listen to In Time but here goes. I hear more piano and strings especially in the intro and the shaker has gone down which I like. The snare i cant make up my mind about. Its loud enough but at the same time it sound a little distant. Maybe its the verb. Dunno, what do you think? Ive listened to it loads of times now and and I am still really enjoyin it. Great song Monkey, it's input like this that we all really appreciate. I was listening too and hearing much of the same things and tweaking. I have no idea what I was thinking with those shakers on that first mix... They were real shakers too? Those little egg shakers? I love um :-) I think percussion really adds a vibe to music. But it has to sit right... Thanks a pant load for listening and for commenting constructively, I really appreciate it.

Really good song Robby, that's a fine piece of writing. Got a little Bryan Adams edge to your voice here and there - nice! You've done a great vocal mix on this one, right up front and centre. Definitely some 'Slashing' in the lead guitar, love the tone. Really liked the way you introduced the bass, cool stuff. James

jamesyoyo Well, your voice sounds better than it usually does. The tune is good, not my favorite, but the arrangement is a bit cluttered. Mix is mid-muddy, and has a series of significant frequency clashes. I would be interested to see a spectrograph on this, and it seems there is a huge hunk of the thing stuck in the middle, which probably accounts for a lot of the separation issues. It's almost like you didn't read my PDF! Seriously, there needs a ton a enveloping to make something like this work right. Thanks James, I appreciate your input. It's helping me to be a better me :-)

danbob I've not much to add to what's been said, but since I was asked so nicely ... As heaps of people have said, this sounds good. The mix works, and the arrangement is well done. Every now and then something sounds a little funny in the kit, but I'm not sure what. Do the cymbals and the snare sound like they're apart, played in different rooms or something? Is the snare squashed a bit sometimes? Not sure. Also the lead guitar break towards the end isn't seater right, or seems a little out of place. Not sure ... probably just a personal taste thing. It doesn't sound bad though, so don't try to fix it -- if this is #6 and final then let's just say that it's part of the character of the song. DB, thanks for listening and for commenting, I look forward to your next release :-)

Not much to say, the music speaks for itself. Sounds great! FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what version I'm hearing or if there were other versions. This is not a complaint, just a request, please don't take it any other way. When the song ends, I think it would be cool to have a short pause or maybe a synth fade away, then a comeback lead guitar solo and then fade. LOL, your probably laughing at me for mentioning that. I'm terrible at explanations of ideas. Anyway, maybe you'll get it or maybe you wont. Either way!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bobby

Dude! I'm in no way experienced enough to comment on the mix or anything like that, but from one musician to another - awesome job. I love the momentum of the song, the lyrics are great. I'm just a young whipper snapper (lol), but to me, this has a hint of U2 and a goo goo dolls-ish flair to it that I really like. Awesome job, sir.

:-) Finally! A fellow bass player to enjoy that fretless :-) Thanks a pantload Warren! I really enjoyed playing the fretless on this one. I used to hate the fretless... Why? NO FRETS!! LOL! But I'm learning to play it. It's still bass? But it is so different playing a freaking fretless that it's "almost" like playing another instrument (not the bass). Fretless just has a feel... It's hard to explain to people who don't play bass? Fretless is all about the slides... And quarter notes "between" notes... And it has a certain "growl" that a regular fretted bass does not have. When I used to play a fretted bass in a band, I always had such respect and admiration for guys who played the fretless? It really is a cool instrument :-) And of course with the fretless, you have to be "much" more precise... Because if you're off, even a tiny bit? You can hear it "big time". Fretted bass, not so. fretless you have to be "spot on..." looking at the neck, watching form on the patterns, scales, it's really a separate instrument from a standard fretted bass, I recommend it "highly" to anyone who plays a fretted bass, get a fretless :-) You won't regret it. Mine is a Warwick Thumb bass that's been highly customized. I had a luthier cut lines in the neck where the frets "should be?" And insert hard plastic slugs? So it "looks" like it's fretted? But they're smooth with the neck... This helps "a lot" with playing, because you have to put your fingers where the frets are supposed to be? Scotty understands because he plays that ****ing fiddle... An instrument sent STRAIGHT from the depths of HELL! No frets? "And it's tiny..." At least the fretless bass has a long scale? So little things while you can here them? Aren't amplified 1,000,000 times like they are on a fiddle! Well, again, I like the song obviously because it's mine? But I really had a good time on the fretless :-) And I'm glad a fellow bass player could enjoy it and comment, thanks a million Warren, really made my day!

Oh good eye :-) That is a "rare" and special... Bowed guitar! There are only a handful on the planet :-D Check them out; www.togamanguitars.com :-) It's like a cello? It's like a violin? But it's tuned like a guitar? And the neck is curved... Like a cello/violin? So you can play it with a bow? And only hit the string you're trying to play? It is "way cool..." On this vid on youtube? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkj5Xy1YKmE You can actually see my guitarviol (what he calls them) in the background hanging up? It's just over his right shoulder (screen left) as he's playing. Watch him play :-) It's really a cool instrument man :-) It takes some time to learn the bow technique? But if you play guitar? You can play one! His basic model was the Naked Spartan? So He made me, "the naughty naked spartan" LOL! The reason is because this instrument is used (not mine) but the bowtar, in the movie the 300? On the sound track? Watch the whole video :-)

I know everyone can't just run out and buy one? I mean, it's a nice used car... But again, if you play guitar? It's a really cool way to express yourself, that you can't imagine until you pick one up... I'm an ambassador... He makes different models now? I wish I could have an acoustic one, but I don't have the disposable cash right now. But if you're a guitarist? And serious about it? It gives you a whole new world to explore... I recommend it, highly...

vechung Nice song! Thanks Vincente, I wasn't really trying for that piano sound and I agree it could be brightened? I may go back and do final mix + 1 :-)
