In time final remix +2 3/1
It's funny because I wrote it from an idea that came to me during a conversation with someone on Facebook!? LOL! And I made some comment and I said, HEY! That's a great idea for a song! I humbly submit my headphone mix... In Time at the top; www.reverbnation.com/rockinrobby I'm doing everything.

Right off, I have to say, that I dig your voice. Nice tone. This is a great tune. Like the vibe, and the mix is great. After 4 listens, and really straining for something to say that might make it look like I know what I'm talking about, the only very minor thing I can say is that I found myself wondering where the snare drum was. It seems pretty light in the mix on my speakers. Is it a side stick sound some of the time? Anyway, I didn't even notice this the first 3 times I listened to the song, so this might not be an issue at all. Really liked it. Brad

Oh yeah, that's nice!! Great tune (as always). Not too shabby vox (as always). :-) That bass is great. Oh, here comes the guitar solo...yep, nice one. :-) Guitars good, as usual. Love the drums. And yes, you're a piano player too. Clever lyrics. I like it!

This one of those performance, mix, production etc songs here on the forum when I can just sit back and enjoy. Most often when I hear a song here on the forum that has that quality about it that I will hear that in the first few seconds upon listening to it. Like there is that feel, expression, spark in the player(s) that really stands out in terms of listening pleasure. My impression that I get of this is that it's your best mix ever and that your doing "more" with "less" as far as the amount of tracks. I don't know if that's the case here but it does sound distinct in the areas of the instruments. The vocals sound great too as well, not only in the in performance but the "tone" and just the right amount of everything done on the vocals. This is super well done Robby

Thanks Jimmy, I really appreciate that. I'm trying really hard to get better with the technical aspect of it. I know there are some real pros here, and I try to listen very carefully to their advice on my stuff as well as others and learn what I can from it. I've been doing more with less since I started dating :-) But year, I hear what you're saying. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Thanks again.

Having just posted my own Valentines song... I'm considering completely removing it and never attempting another one. Why? Because this is how it should be done!!! There are not enough superlatives to describe how good this sounds to me. There was only one point towards the end where there seemed to be quite a lot going on that I think the acoustic/strumming got a bit mixed up with the lead electric, but listening back for a second time I don't hear it so I was probably just imagining it. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Terry.

Nice job.... good writing. I like the acoustic background all the way through. The nit I have is on the guitar solo... there are a few places where there is a harshness, likely caused by the pick attack....

Cool tune. I think this is the best one from you that I listened to. The vocals are really nice. Some thoughts: 1) The violins/strings (I can never tell these things) need to be panned more to the sides and I would probably raise their volume by a significant amount. 2) The snare is a little muddy or isn't sitting right in the mix. Cut some frequencies from other things to make it have it's own space. Raise it's volume. Add some reverb. Less compression.
Need a song, demo or album mixed to sound great? Why waste weeks or months learning how to mix when I'm sure you'd rather spend your time writing songs and performing gigs? I can mix your tracks so that they sound fantastic. My rates are very affordable. Send me a PM to find out more.

Your voice and the acoustic rhythm especially sound fantastic. It's a really great song. I think it builds up perfectly (I kept hoping for a 'really big' build after the guitar solo kicked in, but it's probably better to use that restraint) and the different orchestration and piano fit like a glove. Very nice!!! (only nit - the ending...)

Hey Bub and Scotty, thanks :-) I was making some changes recommended? And my DAW rebooted? And the HD sounded like a 2 stroke weed wacker :-( So I think this will probably be "the mix" for a while. I'm not going to power back up till after it hits the shop.

I got in finally. I hate Valentines Day! (I refuse to feel guilty about not padding Hallmarks bottom line.) But I liked this. Nice melody. I thought the piano need to be a little more present. The distortion on the lead break was a little brittle. But a very nice tune, well sang as always. Daryl

Excellent song and excellent vocal performance as usual. You've got a great voice and vocal style. I like those background vocals toward the end. I agree with others that this mix is really good. It's a well balanced mix for headphones.

superb Robby. you really do have the most amazing voice for this ballad stuff. only nit i can pick is the reverb on the BV is a bit sibilant-y, maybe needs a tweak on the EQ there? love the solo, though that could stand a little more verb...

Ok, I remixed it based on some comments from God and MGH, I actually had no reverb on that lead :-) I do now. And I brought the strings up, widened them a bit more, and took some compression off the snare. Also tweaked a few other things. I get real nervous about making changes when I have a pretty good mix :-( Cause I'm the guru, but I've listened several times, and I think this is better. HAPPY SINGLES AWARENESS DAY!! I hope you have a romantic dinner with your woman, then take her in your arms? Look deep in to her eyes? And say Honey? There's something I'd like to get straight between us...
