lfm I usually do surveys from companies - if the root domain on form is the same as the company. Not so fond of spreading my email/credentials to 3rd party. But the survey a couple of months ago from Cake I did anyway - so important.
There are a total of zero questions that would identify you. It's asking how, how often, and what would you like next. (ok, that sounds a bit naughty, but only if you have a dirty mind...) It's hosted by surveymonkey, they specialise in surveys. The most they could get would be your IP.
Thanks. But there is usually a long encoded parameter that I feel must contain my credentials to identify somehow. Or it would be possible for a robot to skew the survey, or whatever it's for. And everything submitted to the surveymonkey - they can scan fields and identify any email addresses etc. But as I said, Cakewalk surveys I always reply to - really important they know what userbase think of priorities.

arachnaut What survey?
This survey
Thanks. Completed. I really like the "new" way of doing business i.e. regular updates and listening to the user base in a professional manner. Much of the forum discussion is reflected in the survey, which is good ... still I hope not too many vote for the iToys route ... so is there any way to hack / manipulate this ;-)

Surveys are usually sent out to a targeted demographic. That is why not everyone receives a request to take part in the survey. Since a link is now posted for the survey anyone can take the survey including those who do not even own a CW product let alone the latest version of Sonar. Not sure how happy CW will be over the posting of the link unless it was done with their blessing. Which if that were the case CW themselves would have posted a link to the survey at the top of the forum.

kevo Surveys are usually sent out to a targeted demographic. That is why not everyone receives a request to take part in the survey.
You only have to look at the first question to know it was not targeted at anyone. Any company that targets a particular demographic for a survey (other than simply their customers) is biasing the result towards the answers they want before a single question is asked, which makes the survey pointless anyway.
