Is everyone completing the survey?
The survey seems to ask questions directly inspired by many of the current discussions in the Features and Ideas forum particularly and the Sonar forum in general. Clearly Cakewalk are reading and responding to what is said here. A survey will identify whether these ideas are popular among more of the Sonar user base than is typified by the forum. I don't know what percentage of the user base is represented by the forum by I couldn't imagine it being more than a very low single digit percentage. https://www.surveymonkey....iz4aba621d8gn7m0snixcy

arachnaut What survey?
Have not received anything myself ... maybe Cake sends it only to parts of the mailing list? I took part in one few months ago, so maybe it's a 2nd round of the same survey ... or my response was inappropriate ;-)

Survey received and completed here . . . I really hope they are listening. The questions in this survey seem to be searching for some direction about what users really want them to develop next. There are a lot of different things on the table, so hopefully the survey will offer some clarity about what the majority of users really need. I found it interesting about the questions of are you a PRO or Hobbyist, and I really hope they don't go down the road of Apps for phones etc . . .
Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

The app question was about a controller for Sonar not general music apps. Besides they have a different development team for Sonar than the one that creates cross platform instruments and plugins.

The ability to remotely control record start stop, arm tracks, solo and mute, set loop points etc would be great! I agree the survey was a lot more specific and in particular it seems to be focusing on staff view improvements vs mastering tools as the next area for improvement

Mobile devices are cheaper then any dedicated hardware controllers. I guess most Sonar users have some kind of mobile phone. But more important, in case they look in that direction they at least will fix general Control Surface bugs which is good for your Impulse as well.

I just think that features like that give Sonar a broader appeal and will do good rather than bad. I don't think it will take resources away from Sonar development. I think its already been recognised that Cakewalk need to expand and that's obvious by the fact that they are hiring. Some of those staff are being used for crossplatform development, no doubt plugins, instruments and perhaps mobile too

I usually do surveys from companies - if the root domain on form is the same as the company. Not so fond of spreading my email/credentials to 3rd party. But the survey a couple of months ago from Cake I did anyway - so important.

There are a total of zero questions that would identify you. It's asking how, how often, and what would you like next. (ok, that sounds a bit naughty, but only if you have a dirty mind...) It's hosted by surveymonkey, they specialise in surveys. The most they could get would be your IP.
