I has no trouble downloading the files around 10:30am. I had not trouble installing them afterward. But now I cannot get back into my account- at the moment I can't even remember... Oh wait, no- I was trying to log in to see if there was a separate serial number number for Melodyne because every time I try to use it, it asks me to either buy it or enter a serial number. This could be due to the fact that the expired DEMO of editor was installed on my machine at the time of Sonar X3 installation. Mistake?

Ryan Munnis [Cakewalk] We're receiving a lot more traffic than anticipated (which I guess is a good problem to have?). Anyhow I just wanted to let you all know we're still working on improving things.
Applause! I'm in line. It's FANTASTIC to see you all posting here! Keep this up!

...wicked Here I am with all these wonderful X3 downloads and no access to my serial. I may have to bail on the studio tonight and I'll be forced to do the dishes or clean! :-)
Ouch. Sorry to hear that, man. I know this doesn't help you now, but in the future, you might consider grabbing the serial (and other related codes) at the same time as the downloads and archiving them to a Wordpad doc. I do this with every software download, so the necessary codes are in the same folder as the install files in case I ever have to reinstall. This way I'm not having to search for an email or login to an account for a code every time I install something. Given the current server issues, I'm glad I did this yesterday.... I'm staring at the downloaded files, and am about to install X3.... and because of the Wordpad doc, I have my codes handy as well. Hope you don't think I'm rubbing it in... I know exactly how you feel. In fact, it was when I found myself in the same situation that I thought of copying the codes as a safety precaution. Hope it helps you in the future (and hope the CW servers start cooperating soon). Good luck.

I'm having trouble with the downloads as well. Part one claims its corrupted and part 2 gave me a save error after it downloaded. On DSL when the downloads take 2 hours a piece, its quite frustrating.

Always, always use a download manager - particularly if you have a slowish DL speed. I too have a slow, unreliable ISP, but since I started using DownThemAll (Free extension for Firefox) about 3 years ago, I haven't had a single bad/corrupt DL. Also, if you get cut off unexpectedly, the DL manager usually can resume the DL where you left off. No wasted time! Google "download manager", and find one that's good for you (and the browser you use). There are plenty of popular, good ones that are free and easy to install/use. Spend a few minutes doing a couple of test downloads - obviously they don't have to be huge in size - but you want to familiarize yourself with how the manager works, etc. Main thing to do is set it so it becomes your default download mechanism (Any download launches it, or offers it as an option). Oh, the other thing it does is allow you to schedule your DLs: queue them up to go one right after the other, or do a number of them at the same time. This way, you can set it, then go to bed. When you wake up, all the DLs are finished and corruption-free. Good luck.

I paid money for nothing, can I get some chicks for free?

I'm in some dire straits over here guys... I've been with Cakewalk since Sonar 7 Producer, and have updated every step of the way. No questions asked. Sunday morning, I paid my money, got confirmation from PayPal that my order went through, my money was taken from my account... THE END... No confirmation EMail that my order was processed (from Cakewalk), as with most other people, I can't log into my account to see if it went through (due to the Store connection issues, etc...) I was able to login ONCE last night, but there was nothing suggesting that I was a proud owner of a brand new X3... Since then, checked back multiple times and still can't get back in again... I understand that the site is down, and even though it's a little heartbreaking when you have work to do, and decide to put it on hold until you finish updating, and then realize the update is going to take several days, instead of a couple of hours... BUT! That's fine... All I want is some sort of confirmation that my order actually went through, so that I'll know whether or not I need to cancel that previous order through PayPal, and then re-order X3 Producer via a different method? In the mean time, I'm stuck making weird Dire Straits puns... And nothing against the band, but I'd rather be working on my own projects inside X3 if possible... VST3, FINALLY! (Well, at least in a few days, hopefully... if the site gets back online... eventually...) I guess if it's not all sorted in the next few hours, I'll call this morning to see what's up (during business hours)... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this whole ordeal is almost over though, that's for sure. ~Brian

I'm sure they will get this sorted quickly but it might be better if you open a support ticket with them and not just rely on the forum.

Yeah, I know... I've just been kind of surfing around the forums all night, reading other people's status updates. Since I hadn't seen anybody else comment on "order going through, but not getting a confirmation EMail from Cakewalk" I figured I'd start a thread just to get a feel for whether I'm alone on this specific issue. But yeah, I'm sure it'll be sorted out soon enough... I was just getting lonely reading other people's posts from behind bushes, so I figured I'd come out and make some weird Dire Straits jokes to pass the time. I love those OctoPres in your signature by the way... I use some of them as well, and they usually make me smile. *looks over at rack* Ahhhh... Feeling better already...

After fighting to get connected to the Cakewalk store - it eventually let me in long enough to buy the X2 -> X3 upgrade. Now I can't get to the download area! I've been wasting time for > 1/2 an hour so I guess I'll have to try again later or tomorrow. So much for the wonderful Amazon cloud... Sigh.

I can certainly appreciate your anxiety over not knowing the status of your order... but "dire straits"? You said you placed your order Sunday morning. So you've barely waited one day... You can call CW and/or Paypal in the morning and they will get you sorted out. Worst case, you have to order a boxed upgrade from a 3rd party dealer. I'd say the more worrisome part of all this is the fact that CW shop/account servers were mostly down yesterday. It's now 5:00am the next day on the west coast, and they're still down (At least, I can't log in). I feel sorry for the CW staff, who experienced (IMO) one of the smoothest upgrade rollouts in Sonar history.... only to have server issues the next day. Dire straits? They may be yet to come (I hope not, of course).
