I've had the same issue for 24 hours... Had managed all my downloads (or so I thought) only for the X3 installer to ask me for part4? It wasnt there when I did the downloads... weird!

Re: I paid money for nothing, can I get some chicks for free? 2013/09/30 08:40:46 (permalink)
Ha, I know, one day isn't much... But when it's your one day off from "regular" work for the week, and you start out early in the morning, excited about switching everything over to the next version of Sonar... And then just get stuck in that rut all day long, not knowing whether it's JUST a website issue, or an issue specific to my order, or a PayPal issue, etc... (And you know that you won't be able to actually contact support until the next business day, etc...)  Just, the anxiety is sort of getting the best of me...

But when I went to post that, I just had that feeling in my gut that said "You just paid $150, and no longer have that money available to you, and you got nothing for it..."  (So that's where the "Money for Nothing" bad Dire Straits joke came from)  I know it'll get sorted out.  If I didn't trust these guys, I wouldn't have stuck with them for so long (and championed them over all other DAWs when debating with friends).  It's just... I was really excited to spend my day off digging into X3, and now I'll probably have to wait until next weekend before I'll really be able to have the time to do anything with it.  So that's the reason my straits are so dire, or... whatever... ha...

I watched the video a couple of times though... Looks pretty slick.  I'm just hoping that my Slate plugins won't crash it anymore.  (I still THINK that's a Slate issue) but I always keep my fingers crossed that they'll randomly work flawlessly with each new Sonar release.  One of these days, EVERYBODY will be 100% 64-bit based, and my world will be so much easier.

Did you at least get a confirmation EMail from Cakewalk that your order went through?  I had the exact same issue you're having (logged in just long enough to pay for it, and haven't been able to get back in ever since)... And my card was charged, but I never got a confirmation EMail from Cakewalk saying that I was now a proud owner of X3... Just a letter from PayPal telling me they gave my money to Cakewalk, and nothing since.  So if you at least got a confirmation EMail from Cakewalk, then you're a big step ahead of me at least.  (and I'm going on something like 24 hours waiting myself)  So you're definitely not alone.

Re: Cake store down? 2013/09/30 08:55:43 (permalink)
I tried again this morning, still can't get my serial number to complete registration. This has been about 20 hours since I first tried.

Dean L. Surkin - Steinway A (1902, rebuilt 1988), Kawai MP8, Yamaha KX-76; Intel i7-4770K, 32GB, RME AIO; HP ZR30w (great monitor!); Sonar Platinum, Garritan JABB3 and GPO4, VB3
One day, when I have the time, I will learn how to use all the features of Cakewalk 2.0. Oh, wait, Sonar 8.5. What did you say? Sonar version what?

I just sent an email to reverse my order until things get sorted out, I'm bummed. Downloaded files are corrupt and each file takes 2.5 hours for me to download, can't access account. Bad service and my GAS tank is empty. I'll be sticking with my current DAW and will wait to try the X3 demo to see if I prefer to make the switch but for now it has passed.

We'll see what they say.

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry for the trouble guys. We dug in pretty deeply to what exactly slowed the store to such a crawl (wondering if something broke), and it legitimately was sheer overwhelming volume despite upgrading our horsepower prior to the launch. This has put some wheels in motion, but in the meantime the best thing to do is open an official support ticket (see the sticky above).

I'm going to be sitting down with everyone on our support team this morning explaining how they can be most helpful with resolving orders. We'll get everyone access to downloads and serial numbers.

Myself and some of the other Cakewalkers worked pretty much nonstop this weekend to answer as many questions as we could, but at this point if you're having an order issue the BEST way of getting help is through the official support email and phones. If you haven't opened a ticket, definitely do it now.

Sorry again for the trouble guys.

I've been following the threads and trying to log in to buy X3 most of the weekend, and I can vouch for the fact that Ryan and his team have been working hard in the forum here all weekend.   We appreciate it CW !!!!

Hi Etmos,

yes I got the confirmation email - I didn't realise so many other people were having problems. :-\

Everything seemed fine last night (UK time) so I just went in to buy this morning and figured I'd download during the day. oh well - maybe tomorrow. Or the next day. or the next day...

Ha, I didn't receive an EMail from Cakewalk... Can I borrow yours?
(kidding)

I really didn't receive an EMail though... I tried accessing it from the link in my PayPal "confirmation that money has been taken from my account" link, but that link was just a link to the customer service department or whatever... And from there, I still need to access "My Store Account", which just loads endlessly, without ever ACTUALLY loading... But yeah, I never received my confirmation EMail from Cakewalk, so I think my issues are even more broken than most of the people on here.

GB store is well and truly useless. Multiple attempts to login followed by long wait then "server error" message. Once actually logged in pages taking ages to load (varying from several minute minutes to never) and throwing server errors or time-outs far more often than loading a page.

This has been the situation since I first tried to buy X3 on early Saturday afternoon (UK time).

Even if I could get as far as a shopping cart I'm unwilling to put in any payment details as if the transaction times out at any stage that's just loads more hassle.

Giving up.

I experienced this also this morning, but after a few efforts, and waiting a long time for the store to load, it did finally give me my information so i could install X3. I would suggest (in addition to the person who suggested copying the numbers during download (which I also didn't do) clicking on the registration section of the store, then do a chore or two around the house, come back and the page hopefully will load for you.
