I'm really happy for Larry and know he will put his new toy to good use.

I wish Bit would show up here soon and reply with a Paypal address. He has been instrumental in my learning process, saved me a bunch of money by debunking some of the questionable products and, just an honest and sharing kind of guy who tells it straight.

Purrrfect Audio DAW here.  Wow!...

Reason I'd brought Bit up was a few weeks ago I was doing some diatribe on reverbs. Bit mentioned that he really wanted Timeless but had searched through the couch cushions for coins and came up way short.

Bit like Larry, always in the front here and giving their time, intuition, expertise.

Some of what I have on my disc and maybe more important don't have is from these guys' advice.

If Bit wants a Timeless license but can't allocate the funds at this time, I'm in for $10 and think others will be as well.

I kept skipping this thread as the Lexicon needed ILok (which I've been avoiding)....anyway, just read the last few pages and although I'm a little late, totally in. I'm truly happy for ya Larry and glad you got it!!! Larry & Bit's help in these forums have been just.......priceless. Thank you guys!!
Will keep looking in here for un update from Bit.......I know he doesn't like ILok's too, so he might be skipping this thread.

I got a PM from tomixornot informing me that my name had come up in this thread, so I figured I'd better stop by and defend myself!

Who'd have guessed that a discussion of Lexicon reverbs would turn into such an incredible display of generosity? I'm impressed.

For myself, I desire no charity. I get PMs, emails and even phone calls from people thanking me for helping them out, and that's all the reward I could ever ask for. If you want to help me score Timeless, just let me refer you through the FabFilter referral mechanism before you buy your first FF product. Referral credits enabled me to get Saturn, and hopefully someday Timeless. And if I dare to dream, Pro-MB before I die.

I kept a file of daw related websites, passes, etc.. and on top of the note, there is a Fab Filter entry reminder for me to get in touch with Bit as a referrer, so I'll get a discount and he get some credit.

The entry was made sometime back when he took the time to explain mixing / mastering plugs to me. I went and bought Ozone, T-Racks, Alloy, but never get to buy any Fab Filter stuff.

Hoping there is an easier way for Bit to get some credit :)

Bit,

Will keep the path open for referrals and hope you don't have to wait till your next life to get the software.

Just an observation, hope you will take to heart. Never crossed what's left of my mind that collectively helping bail you guys out is an act of charity. Money comes and goes and if you're like me, it went more than it came. As a community, we collide with each other on some volatile up or down point on the cycle.

Think it was your comments ages ago about Timeless delay that got me seriously looking at it and then purchased it on your good rec. When you were turning your couch upside down to shake out the pennies to get a license, I thought there's something serious wrong with this picture.

No charity involved. This is simple leveling the playing field.

Most of us are either drowning for lack of money or drowning for excess of ignorance. Guys like you and Larry keep the information flow happening. Without the help and advice of guys like you and others here, I'd be better off buying groceries than getting burned with substandard software.

Hang in there and know that you are appreciated.

John

Hi all,

I've just written to Fab Filter with a reference to this thread..etc.. and got a prompt reply.

I'm asking for some offers for ..ermm.. Total Bundle (pls don't kill me).. but I think the offer stands for any plug(s) or bundle.

How do we take on from here ?

Edit : I'll be out for evening teaching.. shall be back in a few hours.

Hi Albert,

We can apply our 50% educational discount for Bitflipper. Just let me know when you are ready to purchase, and I'll send you a custom order link.

Re: Lexicon Half Off at JRR Shop 2014/01/22 03:53:24 (permalink)
For first time buyers at full price: Timeless 2 is $144, Pro-MB would be $229.

If they would do the 50% discount for a single plug that should be a piece of cake to make happen. The real issue would be getting bit to accept it. I wouldn't be contributing as a charity effort but only because I get a good feeling in being able to do something nice for someone who has helped me so much and never asked for anything in return.

Re: Lexicon Half Off at JRR Shop 2014/01/22 14:37:43 (permalink)
Those FF guys are a class act. Spend some time browsing their forum - they are all in there on a regular basis, answering questions, taking enhancement suggestions and participating in discussions.

Many people on the forum said "you should make a multiband compressor!". They said "good idea". So they did, and as usual knocked it outa the park. A CW forum member once bought a FF product and asked them if they'd give me a referral credit retroactively - and they did!

Of course, even the nicest guys in the world wouldn't be worth mentioning if they didn't also make really, really good stuff. FF is good stuff. If not for the price, I'd have the whole collection.

I'd like to reiterate that the reason I am a FabFilter fan/user/evangelist today is because of one Billy Arnell, who bought me a copy of Pro-Q years ago. I know many of you remember ba_midi and were sad to hear of his passing. I certainly was.
